  • Patent number: 5497563
Abstract: A clothes dryer including a control circuit for controlling the operation of the dryer and for preventing the dryer from operating unless the dryer lint screen is cleaned periodically. The control circuit disables the dryer either after every drying cycle, after a predetermined amount of time, or after the lint filter becomes clogged. The control circuit re-enables the dryer after the lint screen has been removed from the lint screen compartment and cleaned.

  • Patent number: 5355778
Abstract: A handheld, rotatable food roasting apparatus for use in supporting food over a campfire or the like includes a cylindrical receptacle including opposed axial ends, an open interior space, and an opening formed in one of the axial ends through which food may be placed into and removed from the interior space. An elongated handle is attached to the receptacle for allowing the apparatus to be supported and rotated over the source of heat. In order to facilitate transportation of the device, the handle may be sectioned.

  • Patent number: 5331875
Abstract: A saw includes a mounting arm or linear slide area, a carriage mounted on the arm for linear movement in first and second directions along the arm or slide area, a saw blade mounted on the carriage for rotational movement relative to the carriage about an axis of rotation extending in a direction transverse to the linear direction of travel of the carriage, and power means adapted to rotate the saw blade about the axis of rotation for carrying out a sawing operation. A kick-preventing apparatus, which may be produced as a retrofittable device, is provided for limiting the maximum speed at which the carriage may be moved in the first direction to a predetermined speed, the kick-preventing means permitting the carriage to be moved in the first direction at any speed equal to or less than the predetermined speed while preventing the carriage from kicking along the arm or slide in the first direction at a speed greater than the predetermined speed.

  • Patent number: 5138920
Abstract: A radial arm saw includes a mounting arm having a carriage mounted thereon for linear movement. A handle is also mounted on the arm and carries out movement of the carriage. The handle is movable relative to the carriage through a limited range of movement when an operating force is exerted on the handle, but at least a portion of the operating force is transmitted to the carriage. A speed control assembly limits the maximum speed at which the carriage may be moved in the radially outward direction to the speed of the handle, the speed control assembly preventing movement of the carriage in the first direction at a speed greater than the speed of the handle. The speed control assembly is driven by a shunting assembly which also establishes the maximum speed at which the speed control assembly permits the carriage to be moved radially outward.

  • Patent number: 4887487
Abstract: A system for dividing rotary power to two or more output shafts includes planetary cluster cages that are associated with the output shafts and which are interconnected by a hydraulic circuit. In instances where the output shafts rotate at speeds different from one another, a portion of the power from the source is directed through the hydraulic circuit to cause rotation of spiders carrying planetary gears within the cluster cages coupling the output shafts to a primary driveshaft. The power division system is modular in nature in that the hydro-planetary cluster cages and associated drive axles can be easily added or deleted as desired.

  • Patent number: 4314460
Abstract: A constant velocity torque transmitting coupling presenting a dynamically balanced operation under variable degrees shaft misalignment in a transmission system.A plurality of rotatable linkages are mounted for revolution about a common axis and a link, rotatable about each end of a linkage, connects one end to a driving member and the other end to a driven member. A synchronizing linkage is connected between each of the links in a linkage.
