  • Patent number: 5791123
Abstract: A method of decanting hazardous substances into containers, in which the substances to be decanted are divided into portions and packaged at the outlet of a production plant via an upper glove box, a lock chamber and a drum container under clean room conditions, wherein the drum container is positioned beneath the sealing device on the upper glove box on a weighing platform, and an upper ring flange of the drum container is sealed by inflating an inflatable seal, and a passage between the glove box and a space with the drum container is opened, and further the operator pulls an outer bag out of the drum container over the flange in the glove box and fastens it.

  • Patent number: 5484004
Abstract: There is disclosed a transfer closure valve for safely filling and emptying containers of any type with a liquid, pasty or powdery medium. The medium flows from a barrel into another container without escaping into the environment. The closure valve has a first housing in which is arranged a rotatable or slidable second housing which is fixed to a filler pipe. The second housing is provided with a lifting mechanism for lifting and lowering a lifting cap which opens or closes a lower outlet opening of the first housing. In a first position of the second housing the lifting cap closes the outlet opening, whilst in a second position of the second housing the filler pipe is brought into register with an upper connecting piece of the first housing and the lower outlet opening of the first housing.

  • Patent number: 5246290
Abstract: A cone dryer with swivel arm drive and sealing arrangement consists of a conic mix receptacle with an upper housing cover having in its center a drive arrangement aligned with the receptacle axis which drives the swivel arm around the receptacle axis and which also drives the mixing screw rotating on the free pivoting end of the swivel arm. A first sealing and lubricating package supplies the upper bearing of the pivot arm on the center side, and a second sealing and lubricating package supplies the bearing of the mixing screw on the swivel arm side. For the simultaneous supply of both sealing and lubricating packages, the sealing and lubricating package on the center side and the sealing and lubricating package on the swivel arm side are connected with one another via ducts, and both sealing packages are supplied with fluid via a common receiver receptacle arranged outside the mixer.

  • Patent number: 5108233
Abstract: A conduit having a circular or polygonal cross-sectional outline serves for reception of one or more receptacles which are conveyed therein by a hydraulic fluid. Each receptacle can be taken apart or is formed with one or more compartments for one or more sealed containers confining foodstuffs or other substances which are to be heated or cooled by the hydraulic fluid. The front and/or rear end walls of the receptacles are provided with distancing elements which ensure that the distance between two neighboring receptacles in the conduit cannot be reduced below a predetermined minimum value. The distancing elements of neighboring receptacles can form universal joints which maintain such receptacles at a predetermined minimum and maximum distance from each other. The openings of one-piece receptacles are immediately or closely adjacent the internal surface of the conduit, and the openings of sections of composite receptacles are accessible only when the respective receptacles are located outside of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 4980029
Abstract: Gaseous, liguid and solid fuels are recovered from carbonaceous organic waste material by treating charges of waste material in several successive stages including preheating, drying and conversion into solid and gaseous phases, all as a result of heating in a common vessel or in two or three successive vessels. The solid phases are thereupon cooled prior to admission into a bin, either in a separate vessel or in the vessel for conversion into solid and gaseous phases. The gaseous phases are treated to separate oil from reaction water, combustible gases and inert gases. The charges are heated from without and are sealed from the atmosphere during all four stages of treatment. Each charge is mixed during heating and the intensity of mixing action, the heating action and/or the pressure in the vessel can be varied during one or more stages.

  • Patent number: 4668099
Abstract: A conical spiral mixer with a conically tapered mixer container, includes a mixing spiral that moves parallel to the conical inner wall of the mixing container, the lower end of the mixing spiral extending through an opening in the container bottom below which is a swingable and pivotable bearing. The sealing between the shaft of the mixing spiral and the opening in the container bottom, is provided by means of a spherical sealing body pivotably supported on the shaft of the mixing spiral, but at an angle to the axis of the mixing container. The sealing body takes part in the swing movement of the shaft of the mixing spiral, but not however in its pivoting or spinning movement.

  • Patent number: 4588301
Abstract: The conical screw mixer has a mixing vessel tapering toward the bottom region; in it, parallel to the inner wall, a rotationally driven mixing screw runs in the product chamber. At the bottom area a non-rotational compensating coupling is arranged, which is provided outside the product chamber and below the mixing vessel. The seal between the rotating part of the angularly movable coupling and the product chamber is below the mixing vessel. The seal between the rotating part of the angularly movable coupling and the product chamber is effected by the rotating part being sealingly connected with a sealing bell, and external sealing surfaces of the sealing bell, and external sealing surfaces of the sealing bell roll off on a fixed gasket flange.
