  • Patent number: 4665672
Abstract: A sheet metal wood-to-concrete structural holdown connector for joining a wood horizontal or upstanding frame member to a concrete foundation formed from a single piece of sheetmetal. The holdown includes a seat member formed with a bolt opening, side members and back members formed with one or more openings. • Patent number: 4480941
Abstract: A double shear angled fastener sheet metal connector for connecting a wood held member to a wood holding member wherein the connector includes a side member formed with a restricted opening and a held-holding fastener driven at an angle through a portion of the end of the held member and into the holding member. The head end of the fastener is closely held by the metal side member. In the preferred form, the connector is formed with a header side which is fastened to the holding member thereby limiting bending of the held-holding fastener.

  • Patent number: 4417431
Abstract: A clip for retaining sheet metal roofing or siding panels on a structure, while providing for thermal expansion and contraction of the panels, is made from a single piece of sheet metal. The metal is cut and bent so as to form a base portion having panel supporting embossments, and an upright portion which has panel retaining bulbous projections adjacent the top edge. Preferably there is an even number of these bulbous projections and they alternate projecting to opposite sides of the upright portion. Most preferably, the clip is made of stainless steel when it is intended for use with aluminum panels. The clip is adapted to have its base portion affixed to a building structure and its upright portion enclosed within the seam joint between two adjacent metal roofing or siding sheets which are formed over the bulbous projections of the clip.

  • Patent number: 4410294
Abstract: A variable pitch connector for attaching an inclined beam member to a bearing member. The connector is constructed to selectively support beams at different slopes. The connector is formed from a single sheet metal member consisting of three parts: a base which is attached to the bearing plate, an inclined seat member with side members adapted for attachment to the inclined beams and an upright member which is attached to the side of the bearing member. Adjustability is accomplished by varying the angle of the two bend lines attaching the three parts together.

  • Patent number: 4367973
Abstract: A metal structural tie strap for fastening two or more nailable wood members to one another; the strap being formed with nail openings which are equidistant from one another and fall within nail holding means adjacent the edges of the strap. The edges of the strap transverse to the longitudinal axis of the strap are non-linear, forming a pattern in which the leading edge is a reverse image of the trailing edge.
