  • Publication number: 20160374863
Abstract: A reclosable wound or skin condition dressing and treatment system (10). The system (10) has a base portion (20) that has a circumference and lower (22) and upper (24) sides, the lower side (22) carrying a first adhesive that is constructed and arranged to adhere to the skin (S), and the upper side (24) defining an adhesive release surface. There is a covering portion (30) that has a second adhesive on its lower side (32) that releasably engages with the release surface (24) of the base portion (20), and an upper side (34) that is a semi-permeable layer. The covering portion (30) overlies at least part of and engages with the upper side (24) of the base portion (20). The semi-permeable layer (34) of the covering portion (30) fully covers the open area (V) of the base portion (20), so as to cover a wound or skin condition (W) located in the open area (V).

  • Publication number: 20030015423
Abstract: Apparatus for calibrating a pH/ISE meter includes a solution chamber for receiving a standard pH/ISE electrode adjustably suspended in the chamber. Inlets are provided into the chamber so that a wash solution and buffers may be introduced into the chamber by gravity, the introduction of these liquids being controlled by valves controlled by a controller. The chamber also has a drain outlet which is opened and closed by a similar valve under the control of the controller. The controller controls the valves in a pre-determined sequence to flush and fill the chamber first with a wash solution, and then with buffers so that the electrode is immersed in each buffer long enough to enable an associated pH/ISE meter to obtain a stable reading of the pH/ISE value of the buffer. After the final buffer has been emptied from the chamber, the controller controls the valves to flush and fill the chamber with a solution.

  • Publication number: 20020050460
Abstract: Apparatus for calibrating a pH meter includes a solution chamber for receiving a pH electrode so that a seal is established between the electrode and the wall of the chamber near the top of the chamber. A plurality of inlets are provided into the chamber so that air, a washing solution and a plurality of buffer solutions may be introduced into the chamber below the sealing means, the introduction of these fluids being controlled by valves. The chamber also has a fluid outlet at the bottom of the chamber controlled by a valve. All of the valves are actuated by a programmable controller which also receives a signal from a sensor which senses when the chamber is full of liquid. The controller controls the valves in a pre-determined sequence to pre-clean and fill the chamber with a washing solution, soak the electrode in the chamber for a pre-determined time and then drain the chamber of washing solution.

  • Patent number: 6050543
Abstract: A solenoid valve comprises a conduit having first and second ports and a valve seat in the conduit between the ports. A ferro-magnetic valve member is positioned in the conduit between one of the ports in the valve seat which valve member is movable between a closed position wherein the valve member seats against the valve seat and isolates the two ports and an open position wherein the valve member is spaced from the valve seat and allows fluid flow between the ports. The valve also includes a multi-turn coil having an axial passage therethrough which passage is dimensioned to slidably receive the conduit. The valve member is normally biased to one of its two positions in the conduit. However, when the conduit is received in the coil passage and the coil is energized, the electromagnetic field produced by the coil moves the valve member to its other position thereby either opening or closing the valve depending upon the initial state of the valve member.
