  • Patent number: 11465459
Abstract: A vehicle wheel suspension includes a suspension spring and an additional spring element. The additional spring element is disposed in a working chamber of a hydraulic cylinder. The working chamber, in hydraulic terms, is configured to be completely shut off by a check valve and the volume thereof with an opened check valve while activating a vehicle drive apparatus with braked vehicle wheels being variable by the anti-dive angle and/or the anti-squat angle. For such a volumetric variation of the working chamber, a hydraulic medium is flowable through the opened check valve.

  • Patent number: 11338693
Abstract: A method is provided for charging a battery-operated vehicle having a chargeable traction energy store and a system for autonomously guiding the vehicle with a charging vehicle having an energy generator and/or an energy store. The method forms at least one electrical coupling between the battery-operated vehicle and the charging vehicle via an autonomous driving manoeuver of the battery-operated vehicle and/or the charging vehicle. A charging of the traction energy store of the battery-operated vehicle occurs via the energy generator and/or the energy store of the charging vehicle during the driving of the paired battery-operated vehicle and charging vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9409457
Abstract: An independent suspension of a wheel of a two-track vehicle includes a trailing arm, one of the end portions of which is hinged to a vehicle body of the vehicle and the other end portion of which supports a wheel carrier. A scissor-type arm is hinged to the trailing arm and guides the trailing arm relative to the vehicle body. A spring element supports the trailing arm relative to the vehicle body. • Patent number: 8714297
Abstract: A single-wheel suspension of a non-steerable driven wheel of a two-track vehicle is provided. The suspension includes two longitudinal control arms that pivot in a vertical plane. The first control arm is supported by a vertical pendulum support and supports a wheel bearing. The second control arm is supported with one rotational degree of freedom on the vehicle and is connected to the first control arm with one rotation degree of freedom by a connecting member between the wheel bearing and the pendulum support. At least a section of the first control arm between the wheel bearing and the connecting member is located inside the wheel rim space. A gear mechanism at least partially inside the wheel rim includes two transmission stages laterally offset from one another. The rotational axes of a connection shaft connecting first and second transmission stages and the connection element between the two control arms coincide.

  • Patent number: 8382131
Abstract: A single wheel suspension of a non-steerable wheel of a two track vehicle includes two links pivotable relative to each other in respective planes, each being inclined less than 10° relative to the longitudinal and vertical directions of the vehicle. A first link, extending approximately in the longitudinal direction, functions as a wheel carrier. The first link is supported with an end section on the vehicle body via a pendulum support, which extends essentially in the vertical direction. The second link, extending approximately in the longitudinal direction, is supported in an articulated manner, on one side, on the body with only one kinematic rotational degree of freedom and on the other side to the first link between the wheel bearing and a pendulum support fastening point with only one kinematic rotational degree of freedom. No other wheel guiding link is provided, except for a connecting element.

  • Patent number: 7748263
Abstract: A vehicle wheel suspension system is provided, having a first spring element clamped between the vehicle body and a wheel and a second spring element clamped between the body and the wheel in parallel to the first spring element by application of a tensile force by a tensioning element. The second spring element is not active without application of the tensile force. A pressure addition spring element is also provided which, in the case of large spring excursions, acts as an end stop. The pressure addition spring element is not activated by of the tensile force for activating the second spring element. The spring rate of the second spring element is preferably lower than that of the first spring element. Additional spring elements of different wheels or axles can be activated by a common mechanical tensioning element which can shorten or lengthen several tension devices connected with the spring elements.

  • Publication number: 20090000368
Abstract: The invention relates to a suspension system for a vehicle wheel suspension having a first spring element (1) in the end clamped between the vehicle body (11) and a vehicle wheel (12,12?) and a second or additional spring element (2,3) which in the end can be clamped between the vehicle body (11) and the vehicle wheel (12,12?) by the introduction of a tensile force by means of a mechanical tensioning element (4,5,6,20), which spring element (2,3) can thereby be connected parallel to the first spring element (1), while this additional spring element (2,3) is not active without tensile force introduced into the system, and furthermore having a pressure addition spring element (29) which, in the case of large spring excursions of the first spring element (1), becomes active by way of an end stop. In this case, the pressure addition spring element (29) is not activated with the introduction of the tensile force for activating the second or additional spring element (2).

  • Patent number: 7469765
Abstract: A method is provided for steering a vehicle that is to be backed into a parking space. Starting from an initial position outside the parking space, a reverse trajectory that is to be traveled to attain the parked position is determined. The vehicle reverses through five curve sections, and steering of the vehicle during the reversing procedure is controlled by an electronic control system in accordance with the reverse trajectory. When viewed from the driving direction, the second curve section represents a clothoid section, the third represents an arc section, the fourth represents an additional clothoid section and the fifth represents an additional arc section. In its initial position, the vehicle is at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the parking space and the first curve section, through which the vehicle reverses and which lies between the initial position and the start of the second curve section, is represented by a different geometrical function than the second curve section.

  • Patent number: 7054729
Abstract: Method for determining geometric data for parking processes of vehicles, wherein the lateral distance between the vehicle and a curb is measured several times successively by means of a distance sensor attached to the vehicle as the vehicle is driven by the parking space. The angle of the longitudinal axis of a vehicle and the curb is ascertained by determining a sideways movement angle between the present longitudinal direction of the vehicle and a preset longitudinal direction, which angle results from the sideways movement of the vehicle as it is driven along, by determining a curb angle between the preset longitudinal direction and the curb, which angle results from the course of the curb contour, and by determining the angle between the present longitudinal axis of the vehicle and the curb by adding the angle of sideways movement and the curb angle.

  • Publication number: 20050236201
Abstract: A method is provided for steering a vehicle that is to be backed into a parking space. According to the method, starting from an initial position outside the parking space until it attains a parked position in said space, the vehicle reverses through five curve sections, each section flowing seamlessly into the next. The last four curve sections, when viewed from the driving direction belong to the following curve types: the second represents a clothoid section, the third represents an arc section, the fourth represents an additional clothoid section and the fifth represents an additional arc section. Starting from the initial position of the vehicle, the entire reverse trajectory that is to be traveled to attain the parked position is determined and the steering during the reversing procedure of the vehicle is controlled by an electronic control system in according with the trajectory.
