Publication number: 20080169716Abstract: A motor arrangement for mounting a variety of different sized motors on a carrier. The arrangement includes a mounting clamp, which is fixed to the motor and includes means for fixing the motor to the carrier. The motor has a housing, which is eccentric in relation to its rotational axis and from which shaft projections protrude. The mounting clamp has two flanks located on each side of a motor receiving cavity. The flanks each have a recess for receiving one of the shaft projections of the motor. The mounting clamp further includes a pair of arms, which contact the motor in an elastic manner to block rotation of the motor about its rotational axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2004Publication date: July 17, 2008Applicant: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgerate GmbHInventors: Vicente Azcona Pastor, Christoph Becke, Hans-Reinhart Janssen, Alfred Raab

Publication number: 20070164646Abstract: A domestic appliance, for example a refrigerator, comprising a housing, a recess in the housing and a display screen which can be swiveled relative to the housing and is disposed flush in the recess of the housing. The display screen is linked on its back with a pair of first arms so as to be rotatable about a first axis of rotation. The first arms can be extended from an expanded configuration in the flush arrangement of the display screen to an angular configuration. In this angular configuration the at least one, first axis of rotation is displaced beyond the recess, thereby allowing swiveling the display screen about the first axis of rotation.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2005Publication date: July 19, 2007Applicant: BSH Bosch und Seimens Hausgerate GmbHInventor: Alfred Raab

Patent number: 5244009Abstract: An assembly for regulating the flow of liquid includes a housing made of a first, second and third housing part. The housing parts being placed immediately following one another in the flow direction. The second of three housing parts constitutes a component of a discharge shutoff valve and a component of a flow regulating valve into which a flow-through conduit is integrated between the discharge shutoff valve and the flow regulating valve immediately following it in the flow direction. The assembly includes no freely moving parts and is distinguished by a compact construction.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1991Date of Patent: September 14, 1993Assignees: The Coca-Cola Company, Bosch-Siemens Hausgerate GmbHInventors: Alfred Raab, Heinz-Werner Giefer, Walter Eichler

Patent number: 5234134Abstract: A dosing unit for concentrate in a post-mix beverage dispenser is described which includes an enclosed cylinder space, and a pump piston with a bore running parallel with the axis. A control piston which is in contact with the input side shutoff of the cylinder space is disposed within and movable longitudinally of the bore in the pump piston. The control piston includes an intake opening, and in contact with the pump piston, forms an outlet opening, where the intake and the outlet openings are alternately opened or closed through axial movement of the control piston with respect to the cylinder space and the pump piston. The control piston movement is restricted with respect to the accelerator piston and constrained by axial impact points, so that an axial movement forced upon the control piston causes an impulse in both directions to open or close the intake or the outlet openings, after which by carry-over of the particular impact, the pump piston is moved axially the same distance.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1990Date of Patent: August 10, 1993Assignees: The Coca-Cola Company, Bosch-Siemens Hausgerate GmbHInventors: Alfred Raab, Alfredo D. Ciavarella, George Plester, Frederick D. Schorr, Georg Troska

Patent number: 4746269Abstract: A cooling arrangement is provided for the sealing members of a plastic bodied pump. The cooling arrangement comprises a metal cup-shaped member which is mounted to the pump housing to hold a stationary member of the seal. The metal member is exposed to the dry side of the seal and surrounds the drive shaft. A flinger, which may take the form of a disk, is carried on the shaft on the dry side of the seal closely adjacent to the exposed portion of the metal member to provide a localized air flow to assist in the cooling of the metal member, and thus, the seal members.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1986Date of Patent: May 24, 1988Assignee: Jacuzzi Inc.Inventor: Alfred Raab

Patent number: 4408721Abstract: A hydro-air jet assembly wherein a ball-shaped element has a first passageway therethrough communicating with an air supply and a second passage therethrough communicating with a water supply which is rotatably mounted in a housing and has a venturi nozzle secured to the ball to corotate therewith but which is adjustable in an axial direction with respect to the ball member providing constant water and air flow rates through the ball and nozzle assembly regardless of the angular position of the ball. A venturi nozzle holder is used which provides a novel means of securing the adjustable venturi nozzle to the ball member.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1981Date of Patent: October 11, 1983Assignee: Jacuzzi Inc.Inventors: Carlos Cohen, Alfred Raab

Patent number: 4168705Abstract: A one-way flow check valve is placed over an air inlet conduit to a hydrotherapy unit to prevent back flows of air and water up through and out of the conduit when the hydrotherapy nozzle outlet is blocked. A body of the valve contains a vertically-movable float which normally rests upon a retainer ring in a downward, air suction position. The float is raised upwardly and against a valve seat upon reverse flow of air and water. The light weight, buoyant construction of the float, as a hollow plastic member with top and side walls, allows the valve to shut off reverse flows of water whether fast or slow moving and to respond also to fast reverse flows of air ahead of a rising column of water. A retainer ring with float abutment pins retains the float in the body removably for cleaning the valve surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1977Date of Patent: September 25, 1979Assignee: Jacuzzi Bros., Inc.Inventor: Alfred Raab

Patent number: 4082091Abstract: A hydrotherapeutic aerator assembly for mixing air as fine bubbles into the center of a stream of pressurized water has a swivelable ball carrying a nozzle in which mixing of air and water occurs before ejection of the stream into a pool or bath. A housing containing the ball and nozzle has half of a ball socket formed therein. A one-piece ball seal and retaining member attachable to the housing forms a second half of the ball socket. The nozzle is adjustable axially within the ball on cooperating threads and is made non-removable from the ball by a radially-extending O-ring snapped into a channel in a rearward part of the nozzle. A circumferential abutment surface in the ball prevents withdrawal of the nozzle beyond a selected position.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1976Date of Patent: April 4, 1978Assignee: Jacuzzi Bros., Inc.Inventor: Alfred Raab
