  • Collapsible interior sun shade for unoccupied motor vehicle

    Abstract: A sunshade is deployed horizontally across the vehicle's interior and covers the top of the dashboard, front and rear seats, and the space, or a portion thereof, between the upper edge of the back of the rear seat and the rear window of the vehicle. In the preferred embodiment, the sunshade comprises a flexible cover supported in place by one elongated arm in the front portion and two foldable elongated arms in the rear portion. The flexible material includes an adjustable envelope-style cover for the car seat headrests and an appropriately elevated portion which accommodates the steering wheel. The remaining portion of the flexible material is generally flat.
