  • Patent number: 7657063
Abstract: The invention belongs to the field of remote object identification based on passive and/or active radiation, namely, to systems for to identifying radioactive objects, including concealed ones. A mobile and yet highly-efficient object detection and identification system detects gamma, X-ray and neutron radiation. A distributed multilevel system for a departmental (restricted) use, as well as an open system for common use, is proposed. The expert system is designed to be multilevel. At a low level, the capacity of the portable computer sensor of the expert system is used; at a higher level, functioning of the local network of the expert system through communication links is implemented; and the next level represents the global specialized expert system performance in real time. The transfer from a lower level to a higher level takes place in the case of radioactive object identification failure or ambiguity.

  • Patent number: 7429736
Abstract: The invention belongs to systems of identification of remote objects by detecting gamma, X-ray and neutron radiations, particularly, to systems allowing to identify objects that are concealed or forbidden to transfer, for example, at customs, checkpoints etc. The task of the present invention is to create mobile and simultaneously high capacity objects monitoring and identification system. Moreover, invention task is to make it possible to develop distributed multilevel system, as for departmental usage, and open system for common usage. The set problem is solved by that the detection unit is made separately with a micro controller and data transfer device, the preprocessing unit is supplied with a channel for data acquisition from detection unit, and processor, and display unit and two-way channel of communication with object identification expert system.

  • Patent number: 7351985
Abstract: A wrist-wearable device combines timekeeping functions with monitoring of the radiation dosage to which the user is exposed and of radiation intensity. A Geiger-Muller counter is used as a radiation detector in a wristwatch. A voltage changer changes voltage from 1.5V-3V to 400V to make the Geiger-Muller counter function in wristwatch, by using a voltage pulse converter for Geiger Muller counter power supply. A micro controller is connected to the voltage changer. Switch key control impulses come from the microcontroller; when the signal from the Geiger-Muller counter is received, an additional switch key control impulse is sent. A threshold element is in the transformer primary winding of the compact voltage changer, and is connected to micro controller, while micro controller data bus is connected to bipolar transistor base.

  • Publication number: 20070295904
Abstract: A multipurpose, small-sized, ergonomic device determines and measures ionizing radiation and stores the obtained data for subsequent processing. An ionizing radiation detector is used as a sensing unit and is connected with a microcontroller by a converter. The device contains a nonvolatile memory for data arrangement and command set and an interface for connection with a computer. Measurements are carried out constantly, records are made periodically by the user setting. In the case of a value current or accumulated established criterion level excess, the device gives an alert signal and stores current value, not waiting for periodic write time. At connection with a computer, these data are automatically transferred to the computer and processed for identification and saving.
