  • Publication number: 20240091049
Abstract: An ostomy pouch includes a front wall, a rear wall and an inlet for receiving human waste. The pouch has a comfort layer provided at least on the front wall. The comfort layer on the front wall has a colour with a value in the range L*=50.0 to 70.0, a*=+1.8 to +10.0 and b*=?0.9 to ?9.0 or +0.9 to +12.0 measured in the CIE L*a*b* colour code system.

  • Publication number: 20240082046
Abstract: An ostomy pouch, comprises: inner and outer walls of flexible sheet material defining a cavity for containing a stomal output; a deployable drain for draining stomal output from the cavity; and at least one sheet of comfort material. The drain moves between an extended configuration for draining the stomal output and a retracted configuration for storage of the drain. A first sheet of comfort material is attached to the outer wall, and a portion of the first sheet of comfort material forms a flap. The flap folds along a fold line, between a covering position and an access position; and the fold line is located between the deployable drain in the retracted position and an uppermost edge of the ostomy pouch.

  • Publication number: 20210369494
Abstract: An ostomy pouch, comprises: inner and outer walls of flexible sheet material defining a cavity for containing stomal output; a deployable drain for draining stomal output from the cavity; and at least one sheet of comfort material comprising a hot-melt adhesive coating. The first sheet of comfort material is attached to the outer wall and at least a portion of the first sheet of comfort material forms a flap. The flap is configured to cover the deployable drain when the drain is in a retracted position.

  • Publication number: 20210369493
Abstract: The invention relates to an ostomy pouch 10. The pouch 10 includes inner and outer walls 18b, 20b of flexible sheet material which sealed about a periphery. The walls 18b, 20b define a cavity for containing a stomal output and a drain 32 for draining stomal output from the cavity. An opaque comfort layer 18a, 20a is provided, at over an outer surface of the inner and/or outer walls 18b, 20b. The drain 32 is moveable between a deployed position for draining the stomal output from the cavity and a stowed position for storage of the drain 32, with at least part of the drain 32 overlying a portion of the comfort layer 18a, 20a in the stowed position. The drain 32 is substantially opaque on one side, and at least partly transparent on an opposing side.

  • Publication number: 20210369486
Abstract: An ostomy appliance comprising an inner wall and an outer wall that define a cavity for containing a stomal output, the ostomy appliance having an upper section, a lower section and a waisted section that is located between the upper section and the lower section. The upper section has a maximum width (A) that is greater than a maximum width (B) of the lower section and the waisted section has a minimum width (C) that is less than the maximum width (B) of the lower section. The waisted section has a left-hand edge that is smoothly rounded and a right-hand edge that is smoothly rounded, and both the left-hand edge and the right-hand edge smoothly blend, respectively, into left-hand edges and right-hand edges of the upper section and the lower section.

  • Publication number: 20140356899
Abstract: A protocol process is provided for testing and evaluating Bacillus spores. The process includes isolating a sample of the spores, providing an environmental matrix of exposure condition elements, determining a midpoint for each control range between the low and high extremities, selecting condition elements from the matrix, with each condition element corresponding to a first condition, subjecting the sample to the condition elements from the matrix, counting survival spores for each condition element, performing a response surface methodology (RSM) analysis from the survival spores, and determining coefficients that satisfy a relation for k conditions. The matrix has control ranges of temperature, relative humidity and exposure duration, the control ranges extending from a low extremity to a high extremity. The first condition is one of the low and high range extremities and remaining conditions occupying the midpoint for a corresponding control range. All condition elements are uniquely distinguishable.
