  • Patent number: 10233901
Abstract: A wind turbine for capturing energy from a fluid flow comprises a rotor having a rotational axis and a plurality of rotor blades 104 arranged for rotation about the rotational axis. The rotor blades extend longitudinally in a direction substantially parallel to the rotational axis. A shield member V3 is arranged to shield some of the rotor blades from an oncoming wind where incidence of the wind on those rotor blades would act against rotation of the rotor in the direction of rotation. The rotor blades 104 are distributed about the circumference of the rotor and are spaced from the rotational axis, defining a substantially cylindrical space within the rotor through which the wind passes. The shield member V3 is defined by a radially inward surface and a radially outward surface. The radially inward surface follows substantially a portion of the circumference of the rotor. The radially outward surface of the shield member V3 comprises a first portion which meets the radially inward surface.

  • Publication number: 20130054617
Abstract: Abstract Social networks contain a wealth of personal data when a user is accepted as a trusted contact by a second user. This data can be used to mine server accessed internet content to highlight information related to a user's trusted contacts. Here an application extracts information from server accessed content, correlates it to information taken from social networking and alerts the user to information in the content related to their trusted contacts.

  • Publication number: 20040067903
Abstract: The present invention relates to nucleic acids that encode novel Regulator of G protein Signaling RGS18 polypeptides. RGS18 polypeptides are abundantly expressed in platelets and comprise a novel RGS domain (RGS18 domain). The present invention also relates to RGS18 polypeptides. The invention also relates to means for the detection of RGS18 nucleic acids and RGS18 polypeptides. The invention also relates to methods for the detection of activators or inhibitors of RGS18 polypeptides. Finally, the present invention relates to methods of prevention and/or treatment of disorders or conditions associated with platelet activation dysfunction.
