  • Publication number: 20240117950
Abstract: An entry step lighting system for a deployable aircraft stairway. The system includes steps that having integrated light sources that direct and provide illumination to the steps. Some light sources illuminate strip lenses which indicate proximity to the step edges. Light emitted by a second group of light sources is directed into an angled face established on a riser wall between each step. The light bounces off of each angled face to illuminate the step below.

  • Publication number: 20160355186
Abstract: Various embodiments of a grounds maintenance vehicle are disclosed. The grounds maintenance vehicle can include an electronic control unit (ECU) in electrical communication with a transmission control input, clutch, parking brake, and OP switch of the vehicle. In response to a pre-defined operator activity, the ECU is adapted to manipulate the clutch from an engaged state to a disengaged state, while an engine of the vehicle remains in an operative state, when the transmission control input is in a neutral state and the OP switch changes from an on state to an off state.

  • Publication number: 20140045713
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of biomarkers. More specifically, the present invention relates to biomarkers useful in diagnosing brain injuries. Brain injury can include overt or traumatic brain injury, as well as subclinical brain injury (SCI). In one embodiment, a method for diagnosing SCI in a patient comprises (a) collecting a sample from the patient; (b) measuring the levels of a panel of biomarkers in the sample collected from the patient, wherein the panel of biomarkers comprises ASTN1, BAI3, CNDP1, ERMIN, GFAP, GRM3, KLH32, MAGE2, NRG3, NRGN, OMG, SLC39A12, RTN1, and MT3; and (c) comparing the levels of the panel of biomarkers with predefined levels of the same panel of biomarkers that correlate to a patient having SCI and predefined levels of the same panel of biomarkers that correlate to a patient not having SCI, wherein a correlation to one of the predefined levels provides the diagnosis.

  • Publication number: 20110054734
Abstract: A handheld controller device (HCD) used to relay user inputs to a controller, such as but not limited to a HCD to relay user inputs to a vehicle system controller that controls one or more vehicle systems according to the user inputs. The HCD may be ergonomically shaped to match the human hand in a structurally supporting, and optionally, non-movable manner to allow a driver to provide user inputs without unduly sacrificing positional support, without having to change eye level, and/or without having to locate constantly moving buttons.

  • Publication number: 20070091736
Abstract: A system and method for storing and managing digital content is disclosed. Uncompressed digital content is obtained and automatically stored on a memory device, such digital content becoming immediately available to a user from the memory device. Imperceptibly to the user, the digital content is compressed, the compressed content is stored on the memory device and the uncompressed content is deleted from the memory device. The user shall have complete access to the digital content at all times, and is unaware in what format (compressed or uncompressed) such content is present.

  • Publication number: 20050016742
Abstract: Bilayer materials are produced by drying a solution of an alkali metal silicate upon the surface of a flexible backing material until a flexible silicate film is produced. The film may be separated from the backing material and incorporated into laminated fire resistant glazings. The alkali metal silicate solution preferably comprise a surfactant. The bilayers may be transported or stored before the flexible silicate film is separated and incorporated into a glazing.

  • Publication number: 20020194622
Abstract: A multicast network including a network controller for selectively merging a first data stream with a second data stream to create a third data stream. The network is designed to multicast the third data stream to a predetermined number of receivers. A number of displays are operationally coupled to the receivers. Each of the displays is mounted in a publicly accessible location. In the illustrative embodiment, the first data stream is a network television feed and the second data stream is a proprietary, third party feed with advertising content. The system is designed to simultaneously display the first data stream and the second data stream on onscreen. In the preferred embodiment, the screen is split vertically or horizontally on multiple screens.

  • Patent number: 5727372
Abstract: A self-contained apparatus for charging a battery on an electrically powered turf maintenance vehicle. The charger includes an AC to DC converter for accepting a source of AC power and providing a DC voltage, a sensor for measuring the voltage level of the battery, and a controller for determining the voltage of the battery and for changing the charge rate of the battery. The apparatus also includes visual indicators for warning an operator of normal and abnormal charge conditions of the battery, as well as the remaining charge of the battery. Further, the controller uses a plurality of timers for determining the length of charge times and comparing the values of the timers with count values, wherein if the values exceed the count values, then a visual indicator is lit and charging is terminated. The apparatus is mounted in a box-type shell on-board the turf maintenance vehicle.
