  • Patent number: 4905054
Abstract: A xerographic reproduction device is disclosed, the device having a recirculating automatic document feeder that includes a sheet invertor, and a print path that includes a print station, a sheet invertor and a document set accumulator. The set accumulator includes a horizontal tray where at the individual sheets of a document set are stacked, one by one in proper page sequence. A stitcher is mounted in a fixed position at one leading-edge corner of the tray, so as to be coincident with a leading corner of the set. The individual sheets of portrait sets exit the print path and enter the accumulator tray, to reside in the tray with the set's first page on top of the set, facing upward, and with the stitcher located so as to bind the set's upper left hand corner.

  • Patent number: 4424963
Abstract: A compact single bin finisher adaptable to form collated sets of copy sheets outputted from a copier/duplicator. The finisher includes an output tray adapted to support the collated sets and to support copy sheets during accumulation of a set. A set accumulation module having an accumulation platform is disposed in a plane which is displaced both horizontally and vertically from the output tray. A transport device carries sheets into the accumulation module. A predetermined number of sheets form a set which may be stapled and is ejected onto the output tray.

  • Patent number: 4325544
Abstract: Sheet-like articles, such as paper, entering one or more support trays are aligned in one or more vertical stacks by a pair of rotating drive devices positioned vertically and adjacent to opposite sides of the support trays. The rotating drive devices include a plurality of resilient flaps mounted to a support member. The flaps are configured to reach over a stack of sheets thereby contacting a sheet on its top surface as well as on its edge.
