Patent number: 8985105Abstract: The present invention provides a gas delivery device and system and methods for delivering humidified pressurized gas through a conduit to a subject. The configuration of the elements of the gas delivery device enable the device to be conveniently oriented from a horizontal to vertical position to suit the needs of a user. The gas delivery device may incorporate a Helmholtz resonator for dampening sound of the motor. The conduit may incorporate concentric tubes to allow it to conveniently engage the humidifier at a single aperture. The invention includes a method of operating a blower motor for a gas delivery device using a single Hall sensor.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2006Date of Patent: March 24, 2015Assignee: Compumedics Medical Innovation Pty LtdInventors: David Burton, Fred Blochlinger, Warwick Freeman, Grant Parratt, Allan Wallace

Patent number: 7460541Abstract: A method and apparatus to monitor and analyze inverse multiplexing over asynchronous transfer mode (IMA) links of an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network; and determine statistics regarding cells transmitted through the IMA links. An operational status of one or more individual links of one or more monitored groups of IMA links is also determined. An apparatus to determine statistics regarding one or more IMA multiplexed links of an ATM network includes one or more IMA link pre-processors to process cells from the respective one or more IMA links according to a type of the cells; a select and collapse unit to select which of the one or more IMA links to receive the processed cells from, and collapse the processed cells of the selected IMA links into one stream; and an aligner to receive the one stream of processed cells from the select and collapse unit and determine statistics regarding the processed cells of the one stream.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2004Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: Agilent Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Robert Geoffrey Ward, Roger William Ruhmow, Allan Wallace Dodge

Patent number: 6506614Abstract: A pick and place machine having both a pick preview look down vision system and a horizontal vision system is employed to sense the top surface of the component before picking it up with the pick preview vision system. After pick up the horizontal vision system is employed while transporting the component to a placement position on a substrate to determine the centroid and zero rotational axis of the component and an offset correction to a desired active feature on the component. The centroid of the desired active feature on the component may then be placed on an exact predetermined point on the substrate in a minimum of time and error.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2002Date of Patent: January 14, 2003Assignee: Tyco Electronics CorporationInventor: Allan Wallace Strassmann

Patent number: 6349724Abstract: A gas compression and delivery device for treatment of sleep disorders. The device has a motor, at least one impeller, and two air pressure chambers, each receiving air at a different pressure, one pressure applied to a patient during inspiration and one for expiration. A mask having a dual pressure gas delivery hose and a selector for letting in either the high or low pressure gas depending on the breathing cycle of the patient. The gas pressures are adjustable by means of valves on the separate chambers in the device. At least one sensor on the patient sending data to a controller in the device as to the patient's physiological data which is used to determine the patients breathing treatment needs. The controller may be a microprocessor with memory capability to store patient data for diagnosis and treatment of the patient. Telecommunications by telemetry, or telephony to a remote site allows home use of the device rather than institutional use with health care providers on site.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2000Date of Patent: February 26, 2002Assignee: Compumedics Sleep PTY. Patent number: 6195909Abstract: A combination infrared/air convection dryer or oven for travelling webs. A shutter assembly is provided between the infrared radiation source and the moving web in order to selectively expose the web to infrared radiation, and to create a sealed air chamber when in the closed position. Enhanced drying of the web and/or a coating on the web at high speed is achieved without a concomitant increase in dryer length. When the drying atmosphere has a high concentration of solvent, exposure of that atmosphere to the heating elements, which can cause explosions, is eliminated by actuation of the shutters. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, air bars are used to floatingly support the moving web to avoid contact of the web with dryer elements.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2000Date of Patent: March 6, 2001Assignee: Megtec Systems, Inc.Inventors: Allan Wallace Rogne, Jeffrey Donald Quass
