  • Patent number: 8775429
Abstract: Method of analyzing data from an online social network having a set of network users. The method includes obtaining topic-specific messages sent by the network users. The messages have social content provided by the networks users, wherein the messages include a marker of interest in the social content. The marker of interest is associated with a topic of the social network. The method also includes identifying the network users that sent the messages having the marker of interest in the social content as interested users of the topic. The interested users are a subset of the set of network users. The method also includes determining a topic-specific influence (TSI) value of a designated user from the interested users in the subset. The TSI value of the designated user is based on a number of the interested users that are registered to receive the messages from the designated user.

  • Patent number: 8706652
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling power consumption in a computer system. For each of a plurality of interactive applications, the method changes a frequency at which a processor of the computer system runs, receives an indication of user satisfaction, determines a relationship between the changed frequency and the user satisfaction of the interactive application, and stores the determined relationship information. The determined relationship can distinguish between different users and different interactive applications. A frequency may be selected from the discrete frequencies at which the processor of the computer system runs based on the determined relationship information for a particular user and a particular interactive application running on the processor of the computer system. The processor may be adapted to run at the selected frequency.

  • Publication number: 20120254060
Abstract: A method including obtaining a plurality of user reviews of different commercial products or services. The user reviews include statements about features of the products or services. The method also includes assigning a sentiment orientation to each of a plurality of the statements. The sentiment orientation indicates whether the statement reflects a positive sentiment or a negative sentiment. At least one of the features is a common feature that is shared by a plurality of the products or services. The method also includes ranking the products or services having the common feature relative to one another based on the sentiment orientations of the common feature.

  • Publication number: 20110004575
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling power consumption in a computer system are disclosed. The computer system may be trained, for example, to determine relationship information between user satisfaction and discrete frequencies at which a processor of the computer system runs.

  • Patent number: 7376939
Abstract: Electronic design automation tool specifies an architecture at a system level and its component (which include intellectual property (IP) cores like embedded processors, arithmetic logic units (ALU), multipliers, dividers, embedded memory element, programmable logic cells, etc.); specifies IP-cores and their interface; and understands IP-cores and functions via their interface. Further, techniques are provided for modeling the timing behavior of a function or functional block without drawing a timing diagram; understanding the interface behavior of a function block which captures the timing waveforms; specifying virtual functions which are built using basic functional units and their timing behavior; parsing and creating an internal graphical form for analyzing a specification for compilation; matching the components in the architecture specification and their instantiation to map the computations in the input graph produced from an application; and mapping the specification onto the target's components.

  • Patent number: 7000213
Abstract: Digital circuit is synthesized from algorithm described in the MATLAB programming language. A MATLAB program is compiled into RTL-VHDL, which is synthesizable using system-specific tools to develop ASIC or FPGA configuration. Intermediate transformations and optimizations are performed to obtain highly optimized description in RTL-VHDL or RTL Verilog of given MATLAB program.
