  • Publication number: 20230239266
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for a proxyless NAT infrastructure with dynamic port allocation. A proxyless NAT infrastructure is configured to perform NAT between a network of virtual machines (VMs) and a device external to the network, without a device, such as a NAT server or a router, acting as a proxy. A system can include a control plane for provisioning VMs of a network, including configuring each VM to perform NAT and initially assigning a number of ports for communicating with other devices. The control plane maintains a feedback loop—receiving data characterizing port usage and network traffic at ports allocated to the various VMs and scaling the port allocation for each VM based on the received data. The control plane can allocate additional ports as determined to be needed by a VM, and later retrieve the ports to be reused for other VMs.

  • Publication number: 20230229490
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes managing the migration of nodes between hosts in a distributed computing system. Container statistics data is received by a scheduler from a plurality of hosts, wherein the container statistics data includes data indicating quantities of containers on nodes of the plurality of hosts. A first host of the plurality of hosts that includes a quantity of containers on associated nodes that exceeds a container per host threshold is identified and an excess container quantity is calculated. At least one node of the first host is selected for migration. A second host is identified that has container capacity that meets or exceeds the quantity of containers on the selected at least one node. The selected at least one node is migrated to the second host, whereby the quantity of containers on nodes of the first host is reduced to less than the container per host threshold.

  • Patent number: 11670364
Abstract: System on a Chip (SoC) integrated circuits are configured to reduce Static Random-Access Memory (SRAM) power leakage. For example, SoCs configured to reduce SRAM power leakage may form part of an artificial reality system including at least one head mounted display. Power switching logic on the SoC includes a first power gating transistor that supplies a first, higher voltage to an SRAM array when the SRAM array is in an active state, and a third power gating transistor that isolates a second power gating transistor from the first, higher voltage when the SRAM array is in the active state. The second power gating transistor further supplies a second, lower voltage to the SRAM array when the SRAM array is in a deep retention state, such that SRAM power leakage is reduced in the deep retention state.

  • Publication number: 20230169132
Abstract: This application relates to apparatus and methods for automatically servicing item data requests in data management systems, such as in retail management systems. The apparatus and methods employ a throttling technique to service data requests from one or more entities. In some examples, a computing device initializes assigns a counter for each entity, and initializes each counter with an initial value. The computing device also occasionally (e.g., periodically) resets each counter to the initial value. The computing device may receive a data request from one of the entities, and determines whether the counter corresponding to the entity identifies a count that is beyond a threshold. If the counter identifies a count beyond the threshold, the computing device adjusts the counter, and processes the data request. If the counter does not identify a count beyond the threshold, the computing device responds to the entity with an error.
