  • Patent number: 5614126
Abstract: The invention relates to a substantially solventless curable resin composition, in particular for the fabrication of prepregs, which contains more than 45% by weight of substances which are solid at ambient temperature at least or at lower temperature, and which, in addition to comprising customary modifiers, comprises solid epoxy resins or a mixture of liquid and solid epoxy resins, at least one initiator which is sensitive to UV radiation for the polymerisation of the epoxy resins and has the formula I ##STR1## wherein a and b are each independently of the other 1 or 2, R.sup.1 ist a .pi.-arene, R.sup.2 is a .pi.-arene, an indenyl anion or a cyclopentadienyl anion, [X].sup..crclbar. is an anion [LQ.sub.m ].sup..crclbar.

  • Patent number: 5525400
Abstract: There are disclosed laminated structures which are bonded with a UV-/VIS-curable composition and which consist of a main foil A) which is substantially impervious to light, at least one interlayer B) which is substantially impervious to light in the absence of the adhesive and which carries on the side with its back to the main foil information in the form of a color pattern, and of a substantially light-permeable covering foil C). The laminated structures can be used as identity cards.

  • Patent number: 4920182
Abstract: Compositions are described containing(A) an epoxy resin having on average at least two 1,2-epoxy groups per molecule or a mixture of these epoxy resins,(B) a compound of the formula I or a mixture of these compounds ##STR1## in which a and b independently of one another are 1 or 2, R.sup.1 is a .pi.-arene, R.sup.2 is a .pi.-arene, an indenyl anion or a cyclopentadienyl anion, X.sup..crclbar. is an [LQ.sub.m ].sup..crclbar. or an anion of a partially fluorinated or perfluorinated aliphatic or aromatic sulfonic acid, L is B, P, As or Sb, Q is fluorine or some of the radicals Q can also be hydroxyl groups and m corresponds to the valence of L increased by one, and(C) a flexible polyester which is terminated by, on average, at least two carboxyl groups and which is derived from an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyol or a mixture of such polyols and from an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic polycarboxylic acid or a mixture of such polycarboxylic acids.

  • Patent number: 4563438
Abstract: There are obtained by mixing together approximately equal parts of 1-benzoylcyclohexanol and benzophenone or a benzophenone derivative liquid mixtures which possess a high activity as photoinitiators for the polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated compounds. The level of activity is higher than that of the individual components taken separately.
