Abstract: Described is a cover (1) for closing a container (2), at least consisting of an upper surface with side edges, wherein the upper surface with side edges comprises at least one folding seam (3) which gives the cover a pivoting effect. The side edges (4) of the upper surface of the cover particularly comprise one or more snap closures. When such a cover is snapped onto a container suitable for the purpose there is then created between the cover and the container an opening through which entry and exit of air can take place. Thus is prevented that holes have to be arranged for this purpose in the cover and/or container an opening (7) through which entry and exit of air can take place.
