  • Patent number: 4491996
Abstract: An insole support plate disposed on the last post, the insole support plate having a toggle mechanism which permits the support plate to be moved heelwardly an adjustable amount of distance, said support plate and toggle mechanism being arranged on a frame which is pivotable with respect to the last post to facilitate loading of an upper on a last by an operator of a shoe lasting machine.

  • Patent number: 4437198
Abstract: A method of articulating a work support surface in a machine by attaching the work support surface to a support arm; journalling the support arm through a first axis which is arranged in a pair of parallel slots in a pair of frame members secured to the machine and then arranging a toggle linkage between the first axis and a second fixed axis secured to the frames, whereby reciprocation of an elongated member attached to said first axis causes said support surface to move rearwardly as said support arm thereattached is supportively moved between said frame members.

  • Patent number: 4283806
Abstract: A device for cement applying mechanisms in shoe lasting machines, wherein a safety valve is caused to prevent air from entering an air feed line in the cement feed when there is no shoe in the shoe machine and the shoe machine has been actuated, thereby preventing the machine operator from being injured by hot cement, and where nozzles may be effectively used with an air blast to controllably project hot cement onto portions of insoles some of which may not be immediately thereadjacent.

  • Patent number: 4213221
Abstract: A machine for pulling and lasting a shoe upper has a mechanism for adjusting the amount of rotational travel of lasting wipers on a wiper head which move toward and rotate against the shoe during the lasting operation. The mechanism comprises a rotatably adjustable knob connected to a correspondingly adjustable threaded shaft arranged in the movable wiper head. The threaded shaft contacts the frame of the machine at the lowermost position of the wiper head, and prevents further advance of the head and further rotational advance of the wipers. The machine operator may preset the degrees of the wiper's rotational stroke by adjustment of the threaded shaft with respect to the wiper head, for the particular size shoe being lasted. Rotation of the adjustable knob also provides an indication of the size of each of the wiper's rotational stroke on a gage behind the knob.
