Abstract: A retaining mechanism for a dispensing valve operated by a pivotal handle comprised of a retainer and a hook, the retainer having a base, a catch member and a latch member fastened to the base of the retainer, the catch member and latch member being arranged for movement relative to the base. The hook is threadably fastened to the retainer. A lock secures the catch member and latch member together.

Abstract: A portion monitor for mounting on a liquid dispensing appratus having a body, a pivotable open and closing mechanism connected to the slidable liquid control stem, a separate control box, the portion monitor comprised of a magnet installed in the end of the liquid control stem closest to said pivotable open and closing mechanism, a Hall effect digital switch supported opposite the end of the slidable liquid control stem nearest the pivotable open and closing mechanism, said magnet energizing said Hall effect digital switch when the slidable liquid control stem is in the open position and turn off said Hall effect digital switch when the liquid control stem is in the closed position.

Abstract: A liquid control valve for use with effervescent liquids having a valve seat, cylinder, and plunger wherein the plunger is moveable in the cylinder from a closed position where the plunger is seated against the valve seat to an open position in which the plunger is removed from the valve seat; the plunger having a series of openings through or along the length of the plunger whereby the effervescent liquid will flow through or by the plunger when the plunger is removed from the valve seat; means to move said plunger away from the valve seat and return said plunger to the valve seat in response to a manual or automated command.
