  • Patent number: 4726405
Abstract: An extension table assembly for a table saw, the extension assembly including an elongated top slab assembly supported by a wheeled carriage and attachable at one end to the top table of a table saw to be coplanar therewith, a series of fences carried by the top slab assembly at successively different spacings from that end of the top slab, each being movable from an operative position extending above the slab to an inoperative position not extending thereabove, and a loader assembly formed by a part of the top slab assembly and being pivotal to a vertical position for receiving a vertically disposed large or heavy work piece so that it may be easily moved onto the slab assembly by tilting the loader assembly back to horizontal. The wheeled carriage is collapsibly foldable upwardly against the bottom of the top slab assembly, this collapsing action being accomplished semi-automatically by pushing the assembly forwardly over the rearward edge of a truck bed.

  • Patent number: 4688613
Abstract: A router attachment for a saw table having a raised work-guiding fence at one edge thereof, the attachment consisting of a horizontal arm attachable at one end to the table at the edge thereof carrying the fence, and extending laterally across the table so that a work piece being moved across the table may pass thereunder, the arm being vertically adjustable to accomodate work pieces of different thicknesses, a router base plate adjustably slidable along the arm to vary its spacing from the fence, and a powered router carried by the base plate and including a vertically oriented router bit projecting downwardly through an orifice of the base plate to form said work piece. If the fence itself is laterally adjustable relative to the table, a measuring device for accurately indicating the lateral spacing of the router bit from the fence despite adjustments of the fence is provided.

  • Patent number: 4679606
Abstract: A router table consisting of a table top formed by two slabs separated by a gap, a raised fence at an end of the table intersected by the gap and bridging the gap, a carriage mounted in the gap for movement toward and from the fence, a router mounted beneath the carriage and including a router bit projecting above the table, the fence being windowed to permit said router bit to pass the plane of the fence if desired in order that the bit may be used to plane the edge of a work piece guided across the table by the fence, the fence being formed of relatively movable sections wich may be offset transversely of the normal fence plane to compensate for any thickness of the work piece edge cut away by the bit, or to close the window when its use is not desired.

  • Patent number: 4455907
Abstract: A table saw consisting of a base, a table top supported by the base and consisting of a pair of coplanar slabs spaced apart to define a wide gap extending the full length of the table, a saw carriage slidable lengthwise of the table within the gap, in guideways mounted at the confronting edges of the slabs, a powered circular saw mounted on the lower surface of the carriage with its blade in a plane transverse to the gap and projecting upwardly through an aperture of the carriage, a filler plate at least as long as the table, flush with the tops of the slabs and overlying the gap between the slabs and also said carriage, the filler plate being slidable longitudinally of the table, having a series of longitudinally spaced apertures formed therein, and adapted to be indexed relative to the carriage to bring any one of its apertures into coincidence with the carriage aperture, and a clamp operable to secure said carriage at any desired position in its sliding movement.

  • Patent number: 4209045
Abstract: A combination tool including a table base, a carriage mounted on the base and having a screw jack for moving it forwardly and rearwardly relative to the base, a main table top carried by and movable with the carriage, and an auxiliary table unit having a planar surface through which the blade of a power saw projects. The auxiliary table may be mounted on the carriage in a first position, in which the auxiliary table surface forms an extension of the main table for conjointly supporting work pieces to be moved in cutting relation to the saw blade, with the screw jack functioning to adjust the spacing bewtween the saw blade and a fence carried fixedly by the base, and a second position in which the auxiliary table surface is disposed vertically at an edge of the main table top and the projecting saw blade overlies the main table surface for grooving, edging or shaping the edge of a work piece supported on the main table.

  • Patent number: 4181057
Abstract: A portable radial saw consisting of a planar work table, an arm extending horizontally over the table, being pivoted on a vertical axis to the table adjacent one edge of the table and guided for movement concentric to its pivotal axis adjacent the opposite edge of the table, being connected to the table by vertically yieldable connectors whereby to rest by gravity on work pieces supported on the table, a carriage movable along the arm and adapted to carry a power saw operable to saw a work piece on the table as the carriage traverses the table, clamps operable to secure both ends of the arm solidly against pivotal movement, and a gauge operable to preset the depth of the saw cut despite the variable elevation of the arm above the table.

  • Patent number: 4181296
Abstract: A bench vise consisting of a table having a planar top including a depending vertical planar apron along its forward edge, the apron forming a fixed vise jaw, a movable jaw fixture including a planar movable vise jaw, and brackets for supporting the fixture selectively either in a position with the movable jaw confronting the apron jaw, in parallel relation thereto, or in a position above and parallel to the table top, so that the table top serves as a fixed vise jaw.

  • Patent number: 4005622
Abstract: A wrench for tightening or loosening the central mounting screw of a circular saw blade consisting of a pair of lever handles pivotally joined on an axis transverse thereto. The first lever handle carries a wrench socket engageable over the mounting screw, and extends radially from the socket. The second lever is pivoted to the first lever coaxially with the wrench socket and extends radially therefrom, and carries a laterally projecting restraining finger parallel to but spaced apart from the pivotal axis, the finger being engageable between a successive pair of the teeth of the saw. The second lever is longitudinally slidable relative to the pivot axis to adjust the tool to saw blades of different diameters, and the wrench socket is detachably mounted to permit the use of sockets of different sizes.
