  • Publication number: 20100143940
Abstract: The invention relates to (3R)-hydroxyacyl-ACP dehydratase enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of mycolic acids, and to the use of same for screening antibiotics, medicaments that can be used to treat infections in humans or in animals, caused by Corynebacterineae, more specifically infections caused by pathogenic mycobacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis, M. africanum, M. leprae, M. ulcerans, M. microti, M. bovis, M. abscissus, M. avium, M. fortuitum, M. kansasii . . . ), and infections caused by other genera such as Nocardia, Rhodococcus, Gordona . . .

  • Publication number: 20070090678
Abstract: A rock boring device includes a rotary disc cutter. The disc cutter is driven in an oscillating manner and may be driven or free to nutate, and the device includes a mounting section for the rotary disc cutter and a driven section. The mounting section may be angularly offset from the axis of the driven section whereby the rotary disc cutter can oscillate and/or nutate.

  • Patent number: 4057996
Abstract: In a system for monitoring the composition of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine, a gas-sensitive resistor consisting of gallium oxide is exposed to the gases and is maintained at a substantially constant temperature above that of the gases. A signal is generated dependent on the resistance of the resistor, which varies monotonically with the air/fuel ratio of the inlet mixture, this signal being usable in a system for automatically controlling the composition of the inlet mixture.

  • Patent number: 4036592
Abstract: In a catalytic method for selectively detecting carbon monoxide in the presence of hydrogen in an oxygen-containing atmosphere, such as may be used in monitoring exhaust gases from combustion processes, the catalyst is a platinum-rhodium alloy containing not less than about 10% rhodium. The catalyst is maintained at a temperature such that it will cause combustion of carbon monoxide but will not readily cause combustion of hydrogen, the thermal effect on the catalyst resulting when a test atmosphere is brought into contact with it being sensed to provide a measure of the carbon monoxide concentration in that atmosphere.
