To make the gown self-donnable without compromising sterility of sterile portions, the body covering portion can include an accordion fold (302) or a rolled fold (303) beginning at an end (111) of the gown opposite the head insertion aperture and terminating at the sleeves.

By one approach this pocket includes at least one hand slot configured to receive a user's hand such that the user can lift the second fabric portion and slide the pocket over the upper table surface. A third fabric portion having a vertical panel connects the first and second fabric portions.
