  • Publication number: 20220273235
Abstract: An adherence monitor for attachment to an inhaler is disclosed. The inhaler has a drug canister, an actuator holding the drug canister, the actuator having a mouthpiece, and a dosing device operable to allow the drug canister to be actuated to release a dose. The adherence monitor includes an actuation detection sensor operable to sense the physical movement of the drug canister when actuated. An inhalation data sensor is operable to sense air pressure change created by the inhalation. A controller is coupled to the sensors to record an actuation event.

  • Publication number: 20220115107
Abstract: Systems and methods to determine and ensure proper usage technique of a respiratory medicament device for a respiratory ailment. Medication data relating to a medication plan for a patient is collected and used to determine the respiratory medicament device type in use. For respiratory medicament device types requiring multiple consecutive uses, use data is collected and used to determine proper or improper use technique based on the timing between consecutive uses of the respiratory medicament device. Notification of proper or improper usage technique are provided based on the determined usage technique. Real-time monitoring of the use data is used to provide directions on the required timing of consecutive uses of the respiratory medicament device and thus ensure proper usage technique.

  • Publication number: 20210316089
Abstract: A medicament device sensor (Sensor) comprises a body, a front wall, a back wall, an audio sensor, and a plurality of pressure sensors. The body includes a bottom surface on which the various sensors are coupled. The front wall and the back wall provide mirror symmetry in at most one plane, thereby defining a single orientation in which the Sensor attaches to the medicament device. The front wall includes a securement clip that attaches to a ledge on the medicament device. To detect secure attachment of the Sensor to the medicament device, one pressure sensor detects pressure when the Sensor is secured to the medicament device. Another one or more pressure sensors detect depression of one or more dosing buttons confirming priming of the medicament device. The audio sensor detects an inhalation confirming dispensing of medicament. In effect, the Sensor determines a dispensing event has occurred.
