  • Publication number: 20230020860
Abstract: An air and water barrier article comprised of multiple layers. The layers include a porous layer, a polymeric layer disposed on a front side of the porous layer, and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on a second side of the porous layer. In certain embodiments, a top polymeric layer having hydrophobic and UV resistant properties will be provided on a surface of the first polymeric layer opposite the adhesive layer. Each of the polymeric layers and the porous layer can be formed of a material(s) having a Tg between ?40° C. and 20° C. The top layer, if present, can have a Tg between ?5 and 30° C. The barrier article can provide nail seal ability and have a weight of less than 30 ounces per square yard.

  • Publication number: 20220403218
Abstract: An acrylic adhesive formulation that can be used for various building envelope applications. The adhesive can be coated onto various substrates such as flashing, vapor permeable membranes, vapor impermeable membranes and roofing underlayment's to make them self-adhering. The adhesive can be applied in cold temperatures from 0 degrees Fahrenheit (?18 degrees Celsius) but will maintain integrity at high temperatures without sacrificing the bonding to common construction/fenestration surfaces. The adhesive can include a blend of a plasticizer and an ultra-violet (UV) curable acrylic base polymer, which can be crosslinked upon exposure to a narrow wavelength range of ultra-violet light.

  • Publication number: 20100331468
Abstract: A composition is provided that, in one aspect, may be used in the production of sealing materials, such as gaskets. The composition includes a polytetraflouroethylene matrix and a Boron Nitride filler. In one aspect, the Boron Nitride filler may be provided as a hexagonal, close-packed, Boron Nitride filler that is homogeneously dispersed within the polytetraflouroethylene matrix. In at least one embodiment, the composition is formed by combining quantities of polytetraflouroethylene, Boron Nitride filler, hydrocarbon liquid, and solvent. The liquid and solvent may be removed through various processes prior to sintering the composition to form a full-density, Boron Nitride filled, polytetraflouroethylene matrix that exhibits improved sealability, greater resistance to permeation, and less color contamination.

  • Publication number: 20100105264
Abstract: Various gasket release agents and methods of providing and using the same are provided with a gasket body having a release agent coating on one or more surfaces that contact mating surfaces of a joining assembly. The coating may be provided as a mixture of constituents including hexagonal boron nitride. Other constituents may include a release agent and a binding material that enhances the adhesion of the release agent to the gasket body surfaces. A binding material may include, for example, organic or inorganic materials. Surfactants, in some embodiments, may be added to a gasket release agent dispersion in addition to binder materials and fillers.

  • Publication number: 20070162292
Abstract: A consumer maintains control of certain personal information via the consumer's decision to create, store and offer a retailer conditional access to certain portions of the consumer's identifying information. The consumer is able to set individualized conditions of how access may be acquired and in view of what exchange or offers the consumer wishes to see from the retailer. Upon the retailer's agreement to such conditions, a retailer may be provided access to certain portions of the consumer's identifying information. The retailer and consumer may also enter into an electronic negotiation if there is initial disagreement as to preferred terms in order to adequately value and assess one another's offers in view of the exchange. In so doing, a retailer is able to gain information and characteristics of retail activity from the consumer, and a consumer is able to be rewarded from the retailer for the value of the information provided.
