  • Publication number: 20240108922
Abstract: A facial mask assembly and related method for preventing exposure of a user's face to ambient air contaminants via aerosol by dispensing at least one laminar airflow serving as a face air shield, and another airflow to naso-buccal passages of the user via an air chamber. The at least on laminar airflow is formed along a deflecting lip at a given angle, with the deflecting lip extending from an edge of a main component of the facial mask assembly that covers the naso-buccal passages and defines the air chamber. The assembly can further include a deflection wall that dispenses a secondary laminar airflow and directs expelled air from the assembly between the laminar airflow and the secondary laminar airflow.

  • Patent number: 11589774
Abstract: There is described a wearable respiration sensor generally having a stretchable substrate to be worn around a user's torso; and a dipole antenna having two flexible conductive elements extending in opposite directions from a center, relative to a dipole axis, and being secured to the stretchable substrate, each of the two flexible conductive elements having a proximate end near the center, a distal end away from the center, and a curved portion curving away from and back towards the dipole axis between the proximate end and the distal end, the two flexible conductive elements being in a point reflection symmetry relative to one another relative to said center in a manner that, when the stretchable substrate is stretched along the dipole axis, the curved portions of the two flexible conductive elements are flattened and the distal ends are moved away from one another.

  • Publication number: 20210292702
Abstract: There is described a live cell chamber generally having a body having walls defining a sealed cavity, a sample area inside the cavity, a measurement device configured to perform one or more measurements on the sample area and a controller configured to generate a signal based on said one or more measurements. In one embodiment, the sealed cavity has a thicker inlet area and a thinner sample area, allowing to approach the focal plane of a microscope objective in the sample area. In one embodiment the sample area has a plurality of spaced-apart sample receiving regions having a hydrophilic material, and a sample repelling region surrounding each of the plurality of spaced-apart sample receiving regions and having a hydrophobic material. In another embodiment, a platform is provided to receive the sample in the cavity, and a provided mechanism allows movement between the top and bottom wall.

  • Publication number: 20180231487
Abstract: The electroanalytical imaging device generally has an electroanalytical cell having a substrate and an array of electrodes mounted on the substrate; an electroanalytical acquisition unit connected to the electrodes of the array and being configured for performing electroanalytical measurements between electrodes of the array; and a processor communicatively coupled to the electroanalytical acquisition unit. In some embodiments, the processor is configured for determining a proportion of the given electrode being covered by the analyte solution in a first electroanalytical measurement based on a first value of the first electroanalytical measurement and on a calibration value.
