  • Patent number: 8988879
Abstract: A datacenter cooling apparatus includes a portable housing having lifting and transporting structures for moving the apparatus, opposed sides in the housing, at least one of the opposed sides defining one or more air passage openings arranged to capture warmed air from rack-mounted electronics, opposed ends in the housing, at least one of the opposed ends defining one or more air passage openings positioned to allow lateral passage of captured air into and out of the housing, and one or more cooling coils associated with the housing to receive and cool the captured warm air, and provide the cooled air for circulation into a datacenter workspace.

  • Patent number: 8144442
Abstract: Embodiments of a multi-level power hierarchy are described. This power hierarchy contains a higher level, which includes a first sub-circuit, and a lower level, which includes a second sub-circuit and a third sub-circuit. Moreover, the second sub-circuit and the third sub-circuit are included in branches in the power hierarchy and are separately electrically coupled to the first sub-circuit. A given sub-circuit in a given level includes programmable power protection which is configured to protect sub-circuits at higher levels of the power hierarchy from power variations associated with changes in load on branches at lower levels of the power hierarchy, thereby providing failure isolation in the power hierarchy.

  • Patent number: 7768254
Abstract: The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a system that includes a computer device. The computer device includes a power supply and a component that receives power from the power supply through a first electrical connection. The system includes a measurement adapter for measuring an electrical property of the first electrical connection. The measurement adapter is interposed within the first electrical connection between the power supply and the component. The measurement adapter is configured to draw power from a second electrical connection that is different from the first electrical connection. The measurement adapter includes a sensor for measuring the electrical property of the first electrical connection.
