  • Patent number: 10088639
Abstract: An opto-mechanical coupler and corresponding method are provided. The coupler may include a first end and a second end configured to receive optical fibers and a top surface and bottomed surface defining a through hole extending between the top and bottom surfaces. The coupler may include a reflective surface that redirects the optical signals between a first direction and a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The coupler may position one or more optical fibers along a second direction such that an optical signal from the plurality of optoelectronic transceivers is directed into one or more optical fibers or an optical signal from the one or more optical fibers is directed into a plurality of the optoelectronic transceivers, with the coupler accommodating different diameters of optical fiber including POF, SMF, and/or MMF fiber.

  • Patent number: 6268789
Abstract: A device for protecting secured areas in a computer system which includes at least one storage unit divided into at least two storage areas. The device includes input-output (I/O) interfaces for connecting between the computer system and the storage unit, a managing controller connected to the I/O interfaces and communication interfaces connected to the managing controller, for linking between the computer system and communication networks. The managing controller provides the computer system with a selection between at least two modes. In each mode, the managing controller provides access to and from the computer to selected storage areas and communication networks. Furthermore, in each mode, the managing controller denies or provides limited access to and from the computer to non-selected storage areas and communication networks.

  • Patent number: 5969632
Abstract: Communication apparatus including a public network, a secured network, a plurality of public nodes connected to the public network and a plurality of secured nodes connected to the secured network and to the public network. The nodes including interfaces for communicating therebetween over the networks, wherein each the secured node includes a communication controller a computer system and a secured storage area. A secured node divides a confidential message into at least two segments and transmits the segments via the networks wherein at least a selected one of the segments is transmitted via at least one of the secured networks. The communication controller is also operative to disconnect the secured storage area from the computer station and the public network when the communication between the computer station and the public network is in progress.
