  • Publication number: 20230226442
Abstract: A method of providing virtual items based on location-based action is disclosed. An indication is received of a performance of a location-based action by a player of a computer-implemented game. A virtual item is provided based on the receiving of the indication of the performance of the location-based action by the player of the computer-implemented game. • Patent number: 11636505
Abstract: A method of incentivizing location-based actions by groups is disclosed. A group of users of a game networking system is notified that an incentive reward is to be provided based on a number of members of the group performing a location-based action transgressing a threshold. • Patent number: 11232671
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to games and applications in general and in particular to computer-implemented online games, such as online role-playing games, playable by more than one person from more than one location. The game engine can dynamically determine the type of in-game asset to award to a first player and the types of in-game obstacles to present to the first player by referencing the in-game assets available to other players in the first player's social network and by referencing other game state variables.

  • Publication number: 20200160289
Abstract: A lazy updating system where a traditional non-blockchain database is updated first and applies a state change to a blockchain lazily while still allowing a client application to perform operations on the new state is disclosed. The lazy updating system enables transactions related to blockchain-based goods to use one or more databases (e.g., local or distributed databases) to mirror blockchain state. Operations such as displaying a user interface (UI) with the current state of the blockchain use these databases instead of the blockchain directly to enable faster loading times. Instead of waiting for a blockchain to confirm a change to the state of their goods, the lazy updating system enables a service to first update its local database with a given change to allow users to interact with the new state and execute the blockchain transaction in the background with the assumption that the given change will eventually be confirmed.

  • Publication number: 20190392511
Abstract: A bid matching for blockchain-based goods/assets system that allows users to participate in efficient and optimized auctions of blockchain-based assets/goods is disclosed. Instead of paying the current price for a blockchain-based item by signing and executing a transaction immediately, buyers pre-sign a crypto-transaction for a given future price of the item. The buyer sends the pre-signed crypto-transaction for future execution when the price of the blockchain-based good/asset matches (or falls below) a price that the buyer specified in the pre-signed transaction. Instead of executing bids on-chain, the bid matching for blockchain-based goods/assets system enables execution of an off-chain service that allows users to bid on one or more blockchain-based items with pre-signed transactions that are instantaneous and not dependent on network conditions. After an auction has ended, a winning bid is selected and executed automatically to consummate the purchase of the blockchain-based assets/goods.

  • Publication number: 20190354945
Abstract: A fiat to blockchain-based items/goods system is disclosed, which can be used by a user to purchase blockchain-based goods using traditional payment methods (fiat currency transactions using, e.g., credit card, debit card, bank account, PayPal account, Apple Pay, Google Wallet/Google Pay, etc.) without first requiring the user to create a blockchain wallet and fund it via an account with a digital currency exchange.

  • Patent number: 10108410
Abstract: Software parses an app update schedule with a parsing utility to obtain a current app version number of an app and determines that the deployed app version number is older than the current app version number. The software conducts a dependency analysis of the current version of the app using a scanning utility that outputs a hierarchical tree diagram of dependent code modules. The hierarchical tree diagram identifies a name and a code version number for each dependent code module. The software uses the name and code number for each dependent code module to obtain all code version numbers for the dependent code module from the code database and determines whether at least one code version number for a dependent code module is later than the code version number for the dependent code module in the hierarchical tree diagram. Then the software creates an updated app using newer source code.

  • Patent number: 9937414
Abstract: Software on a server transmits a copy of a string of text data containing game state parameters to a client device executing an instance of a computer-implemented game. The string is serialized and unstructured. The instance modifies the game state parameters according to game logic and events generated by a user as the user plays the game. The software on the server then receives a batch file transmitted after a threshold period of time by the instance. The batch file includes a plurality of events. The software processes the plurality of events in the batch file against game logic to update one or more of game state parameters in the string and stores the text data in the updated string in a persistent database.

Abstract: A method of providing virtual items based on location-based actions is disclosed. An indication is received of a performance of a location-based action by a player of a computer-implemented game. A virtual item is added to an inventory of a player character of the player of the computer-implemented game based on the receiving of the indication of the performance of the location-based action by the player of the computer-implemented game. The virtual item is usable within the computer-implemented game by the player character of the player of the computer-implemented game.
