  • Publication number: 20140149016
Abstract: A flexible conduit may include a first layer defining an inner surface, a second layer defining an outer surface, and a metal reinforcement element disposed between the first and second layers, the metal reinforcement element having associated therewith a first physical property. One or more sensors is coupled to the metal reinforcement element and configured to detect the first physical property and generate a signal indicative of the first physical property. A controller is operably coupled to the sensor and configured to receive the signal and display physical property data, thereby to determine potential degradation of the conduit.

  • Publication number: 20140123731
Abstract: A method and system for evaluating a fluid in a machine entails periodically evaluating a permittivity of the fluid and based on periodically evaluating the permittivity of the fluid, observing a change in the permittivity of the fluid. Based on the observed change in the permittivity of the fluid, it is determined whether the fluid is exhausted or contaminated.

  • Publication number: 20070256366
Abstract: An extruded automotive vehicle door seal provides for positional adjustment to establish an optimal sealing operation between the door and the frame against which the door closes. The structure of the door seal includes in cross section a base portion and a bulb portion. The frame against which the vehicle door closes is provided with a mounting channel into which the base portion of the adjustable door seal is seated. The base portion is preferably formed with a barbed periphery that frictionally engages the interior circumference of the mounting channel for positionally fixing the door seal relative to the vehicle frame. The position of the door seal is established by the closing of the door against the vehicle frame such that the bulb portion is engaged by the door and presses the base portion into the mounting channel to position the door seal in an optimal sealing position.
