  • Patent number: 6661302
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for generating a control signal for compensating a temperature controlled crystal oscillator system for changes in an ambient temperature. The method includes the steps of providing a set of second-order coefficients relating ambient temperature to frequency drift over at least a portion of an operating temperature range of the temperature controlled crystal oscillator system and calculating a control signal for compensating the temperature controlled crystal oscillator system for the frequency drift due to the ambient temperature based upon the set of second-order coefficients.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2002
Date of Patent: December 9, 2003
    Assignee: CTS Corporation
Inventors: Ammar Yasser Rathore, Charles Zimnicki
  • Patent number: 6646514
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for reducing a startup interval of a temperature controlled crystal oscillator chip. The method includes the steps of connecting an operating circuit of the temperature controlled crystal oscillator chip into a first configuration to reduce the startup interval following application of power and reconnecting the operating circuit into a second configuration after a predetermined time period.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 27, 2001
Date of Patent: November 11, 2003
    Assignee: CTS Corporation
Inventors: Richard N. Sutliff, Jaroslaw E. Adamski, Ammar Yasser Rathore, Iyad Alhayek
  • Patent number: 6580332
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for constructing a temperature controlled crystal oscillator chip. The method includes the steps of disposing a connection pad on a surface of the chip, providing a first circuit within the chip for control of a first chip function through a first interconnection with the connection pad and providing a second circuit within the chip for control of a second chip function, unrelated to the first chip function, through a second interconnection with the connection pad.

    Filed: November 30, 2000
Date of Patent: June 17, 2003
    Assignee: CTS Corporation
Inventors: Richard N. Sutliff, Iyad Alhayek, Ammar Yasser Rathore, Jaroslaw Adamski
  • Publication number: 20020113662
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for exchanging data with a temperature controlled crystal oscillator chip. The method includes the steps of receiving data within the temperature controlled crystal oscillator chip through a first bonding pad of the chip during a first time interval and transmitting data from the temperature controlled crystal oscillator chip through the first bonding pad of the chip during a second time interval.
