  • Patent number: 5423937
Abstract: A device for making a blind having Y-shaped pleats comprises an ultrasonic welding gear or a high frequency welding gear, a pressing wheel, a base plate, a motor, two drive wheels, two guide wheels, and two guide brackets. The welding gear has a weld head over which the pressing wheel is mounted for pressing a blind cloth against the weld head. The base plate is disposed horizontally between the pressing wheel and the weld head and provided with a through hole corresponding in location to the pressing wheel and the weld head. The motor is used to drive the pressing wheel which in turn drives the two drive wheels to press the blind cloth moving on the base plate. The two guide wheels are driven by the motor for guiding the unwelded blind cloth to move. The guide brackets are provided respectively with a protruded portion corresponding in level to the base plate for holding the pleats of the blind cloth waiting to be welded.

  • Patent number: 5409050
Abstract: A Venetian blind comprises a top rail, a tilting device, two or more ladders, a bottom rail, a predetermined number of drawing cords, a drawing cord pulley retainer, and a predetermined number of slats. Each of the slats is provided with a through hole corresponding in location to a drawing cord, and with a ladder hole corresponding in location to each of ladders, and further with a slit extending in a predetermined direction from the ladder hole. The ladder has two suspension cords, one of which is received in the ladder hole through the slit. Each of the slats is provided with an extension section with an outer side edge and an inner side edge. The outer side edge of the extension section of one slat is capable of forming a lap joint with the inner side edge of the extension section of another slat at the time when the slats are set to keep out the light. The lap joint serves to obstruct the through holes and to conceal the ladders and the drawing cords.

  • Patent number: 5139069
Abstract: A light proof pleated window shade comprises an upper rail, a bottom rail, a pleated blind arranged between the upper rail and the bottom rail, a string set with one end thereof being fastened securely to the bottom rail and with the other end thereof passing through a plurality of string loops attached integrally to the pleated blind and through the upper rail, and a string pulley lock arranged in the end portion of the upper rail to permit the free end of the string to emerge therefrom and to retain the string. The pleated blind is characterized in that it comprises thereto a plurality of loop areas of a width located at the protruded edges of folded portions thereof. The loop areas are composed of the woof thread and the warp thread which are not interlaced. The woof thread of loop area extends outwardly to form a string loop to accommodate therein a string.

  • Patent number: 5120376
Abstract: The method and the apparatus for manufacture of a light-proof and folded window curtain are disclosed. A plane curtain material is folded repeatedly into a plurality of folded parts of an equal width, which are subsequently joined together on the same side of the curtain to form close-knit shoulders through which the curtain holes are arranged at a predetermined position for accommodating a string. A positioning apparatus is employed to hold firmly the groove portions of the folded curtain material, so as to permit two adjacent folded parts to stay closely together. An adapting apparatus is subsequently used to form a shoulder of a predetermined width from two adjoining folded parts. A series of shoulders are formed from a plurality of groups with each containing two adjoining folded parts on the same side of the folded curtain material.

  • Patent number: 5109909
Abstract: An improved Venetian blind comprises a top rail, a bottom rail, a predetermined number of ladder tapes fastened to top and bottom rails at both ends thereof, a predetermined number of slats held on to ladder tapes, a draw cord pulley lock set, a draw cord set, an adjusting member with a connection head attached thereto for use in controlling the ladder tapes to tilt the slats, a tilt rod, and four end caps disposed at both ends of top and bottom rails. The improved blind is characterized in that the top rail includes a receiving portion serving to accommodate the draw cord pulley lock set and a connection head and that the end caps are of an insertion type so as to prevent the slats from being pressed against by the pulley lock set, the connection head, and the end caps when the blind is drawn up completely.

  • Patent number: 5090466
Abstract: A pleated window shade comprises mainly an upper rail, a bottom rail, a full blind having a plurality of folded parts with rows of string holes disposed therewith, and narrow blinds equal in number to rows of string holes of the full blind. The narrow blinds are composed of folded parts, each of which comprises at least one string hole to accommodate therein a string. The narrow blinds are arranged between the upper rail and the bottom rail in a manner that their positions are correspondent to those to rows of string holes of full blind, with string holes of narrow blind and of full blind being positioned in an alternate manner so as to obstruct one another.
