  • Publication number: 20160012417
Abstract: Methods and systems for loading and reloading prepaid cards are disclosed. A service layer of a payment facilitator receives a pay-and-load request to load a prepaid card with a desired amount from a mobile application installed at a mobile device. The pay-and-load request comprises payment details. The service layer retrieves a quote stored at the service layer that corresponds to the pay-and-load request. It then transmits, to a payment gateway, a payment authorisation request, which comprises the payment details and a payment amount indicated by the retrieved quote. In response, the service layer receives from the payment gateway an authorisation response. If the authorisation response indicates a successful authorisation, the service layer transmits a load request to load the prepaid card with the desired amount to a payment processing platform.
