  • Patent number: 7523408
Abstract: A computer-generated user interface for setting up source-target pairs of storage resources, and representing the status of copying activities of the pairs, in a disk storage server or other storage device. The interface (500) identifies each storage resource, such as volumes, in the storage device (100, 110, 120, 130), and one or more storage resources in the same or a different storage device (100, 110, 120, 130) for which a copy relationship has been established. One or more status icons are displayed to provide information related to the copy relationship, such as whether copying is in progress, the type of copying, copying progree and the like. A task wizard interface (300, 400) enables a user to designate desired copy relationships between storage resources. The user may select indicia associated with the resources to set up the copy relationships.

  • Patent number: 7350000
Abstract: A user interface facilitates copying data between storage resources, such as servers. A user selects a source storage resource and a target storage resource. Available adapters are displayed through which a path can be established between the selected source and target storage resources. The user selects at least one of the available adapters to configure the path to copy data from the selected source storage resource to the selected target storage resource. The list of available adapters is dynamically updated so that only currently available adapters are displayed. The displayed adapters may be further limited to those that are compatible with a certain path type selected by the user, such as adapters used for a unidirectional or a bi-directional path.

  • Publication number: 20040243616
Abstract: A user interface for a computer system that provides a display of a tree and corresponding table, e.g., a “treetable” display. The tree is updated based on filter and sort operations applied to the table. Tree nodes may represent storage resources of a computer system such as a storage server, logical storage resources, volumes, disks, and the like. Filtering may be based on storage resource identifier, storage resource size, copy type, copy status, copy progress, and characteristics of a copy relationship, such as an identifier of another storage resource that is a source or target resource for copying. The table is updated to display only the information associated with the child nodes that meet the filtering conditions, and their parent nodes, while omitting the information for remaining nodes. Rows of the table displaying information for multiple copy relationships associated with a node remain grouped after sorting or filtering.
