  • Publication number: 20240180042
Abstract: Doped-AlN piezoelectric materials are advantageous because they are far more compatible with complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) materials and they maintain both piezoelectric and thermodynamic stability up to very high temperatures, compared to PZT. Ab-initio calculations and targeted experimentation have identified alternative, earth-abundant, dopants for AlN from the periodic table d-block. In particular, group IVB elements, titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), and hafnium (Hf) induce large piezoelectric enhancements comparable to rare-earth dopants, such as Sc. This improvement is due to shifts in the sublattice atomic structure and changes in the local charge states. This invention provides a highly accessible and affordable path for technological adaptation of AlN-based piezoelectrics for sustainable, next-generation electronics.

  • Publication number: 20240176674
Abstract: An online system facilitates various functions using machine learning model microservices. A tuning mechanism tunes various configuration parameters for each microservice that control allocation of computing resources and other configurations of physical and/or virtual machines that implement the microservices. Tuning may be performed in part by executing tests under various configurations and evaluating an objective function associated with the different configurations. Furthermore, parameters of the objective function may be set based on a trained learning model that learns baseline parameters and weights of the objective function based on historical data.

  • Publication number: 20240179493
Abstract: Described herein are examples of a system that processes information describing movement of a vehicle at a time related to a potential collision to reliably determine whether a collision occurred and/or one or more characteristics of the collision. In response to obtaining information regarding a potential collision, data describing movement of the vehicle before and/or after a time associated with the potential collision is analyzed to determine whether the collision occurred and/or to determine one or more collision characteristic(s). The analysis may be carried out at least in part using a trained classifier that classifies the vehicle movement data into one or more classes, where at least some the classes are associated with whether a collision occurred and/or one or more characteristics of a collision. If a collision is determined to be likely, one or more actions may be triggered based on the characteristic(s) of the collision.

Abstract: A liquid recovery filter assembly for recovering filtered liquid trapped within a core or downstream side of a filter element. Multiple embodiments each include a recovery port and a recovery filter in fluid communication with the core or downstream side of the filter element. The recovery port is opened following filtration operations to permit and to facilitate filtered liquid to flow from a downstream or outlet port, thus allowing recovery of liquid remaining in the filter core or downstream side following filtering operations. The recovery filter permits the introduction of pressurized gas to force the filtered liquids from the filter assembly without compromising the sterility and/or non-contaminant condition of the liquid.

Abstract: Techniques for providing recommendations of actions for a user to perform to improve efficiency in user interactions with a user interface of a user computing device. An intelligent monitoring (IM) computing system may receive data from a user computing device and may determine user interactions associated with the user interface. The user interactions may include selections, an order associated with the selections, times associated with the selections, and/or other data corresponding to user interaction with a user interface. The IM computing device may be configured to determine a fault (e.g., inefficiency) associated with the user interactions and determine an action for the user to perform to correct the fault. The IM computing device may cause a notification including the action to surface on a display of the user computing device, such as to inform the user of a means by which they can improve efficiency of the user interactions.
