  • Patent number: 11983399
Abstract: An information handling system touchpad includes an application area with a display to present control icons of an application executing on the information handling system, such as camera and microphone icons to control camera and microphone functions of a videoconference application. A gesture at the touchpad in the application area commands presentation and removal of the control icons at the touchpad display in the application area while different touch analysis logic is applied to end user touches in the application area versus the remainder of the touchpad at which cursor inputs are accepted.

  • Patent number: 11977733
Abstract: An information handling system touchpad includes an application area with a display to present control icons of an application executing on the information handling system, such as camera and microphone icons to control camera and microphone functions of a videoconference application. The touchpad dynamically scales between a first configuration that accepts cursor inputs at the full touch detection surface area and a second configuration that limits cursor inputs to touches in a first portion of the touch detection surface and presents control icons in a second portion, such as by applying different touch analysis logic to end user touches in the first and second portions.

  • Publication number: 20240069715
Abstract: An information handling system touchpad includes an application area with a display to present control icons of an application executing on the information handling system, such as camera and microphone icons to control camera and microphone functions of a videoconference application or a calculator user interface. The touchpad accepts inputs at the control icons with a predetermined touch, such as a tap or a double tap. The touchpad continues to provide cursor touch inputs across the full touch surface, including over the control icons by applying separate touch logic to isolate control icon inputs, such as isolating finger taps as control icon inputs when control icons are presented.

  • Publication number: 20240071336
Abstract: An information handling system touchpad includes an application area with a display to present control icons of an application executing on the information handling system, such as camera and microphone icons to control camera and microphone functions of a videoconference application. The touchpad dynamically adjusts touchpad display brightness and color based upon ambient light conditions detected by an ambient light sensor. Touchpad display brightness control is set independent of main display and keyboard backlight illumination brightness.

  • Patent number: 11842043
Abstract: An information handling system touchpad includes an application area with a display to present control icons of an application executing on the information handling system, such as camera and microphone icons to control camera and microphone functions of a videoconference application. A cursor touch rejection logic is applied at the touchpad to interpret touches as inputs to the information handling system based upon a presented cursor position. A separate application touch rejection logic is applied to the application area with the control icons are presented.

  • Patent number: 5867037
Abstract: A method and apparatus for receiving and transmitting programming data through an application specific integrated circuit is provided. In a first embodiment, the application specific integrated circuit comprises a main circuit, at least two input/output (I/O) mechanisms connected to the main circuit for transferring data into and out of the main circuit and a mechanism for receiving and transmitting the programming data. The mechanism for transmitting the programming data includes a tri-state buffer that is activated by a programming enable signal. In a second embodiment, the input and output of the buffer are multiplexed with the two I/O mechanisms connected to the main circuit.

  • Patent number: 5819095
Abstract: A method and apparatus of making a computer system using the peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus architecture compatible with an Apple computer system are provided. In a preferred embodiment mechanism is used for dedicating interrupt request lines to each of a plurality of input/output (I/O) devices, a mechanism for providing an interrupt request from one of the plurality of I/O devices to a processor, and a mechanism for disabling an interrupt controller on the motherboard of the system (or onboard interrupt controller) so as to allow an interrupt controller residing on an Apple adapter to control the system. The interrupt controller on the Apple adapter contains an input for each of the various I/O adapters attached to the computer system and also provides a request line to the processor.
