A controller can poll for settings at each endpoint in a conference system and be able via the video stream to selectively display and compare settings among the endpoints. One location can push its settings to one or more locations to overcome failures or degradation in the conference. The settings between different controllers may be rationalized via a common denominator method or tabular method to build a knowledge of how to configure conferences and to automate responses to problems.

The universal contact server can retrieve contact information from all the communication devices associated with a use and store the contact information into the single universal contact data base. With the contact information stored in a single location, the user can use any communication device to contact the contact server and retrieve the contact information. In this way, the centrally stored contact information, allows a user to easily locate any contact information the user desires.

Prior to and/or after the interactive communication was placed on hold, context information related to when the interactive communication was placed on hold is gathered. The interactive communication is taken off hold and the context information is presented to the user; thus providing the user with the context of the interactive communication when it was placed on hold.

A multipoint control unit (MCU) can provide metadata that describes the display layout and other information about the multimedia stream. After setting up the conference, the MCU can generate a layout description in eXstensible Markup Language (XML) that can be sent to and understood by the communication endpoints. The communication endpoints can read and interpret the XML metadata to determine how the display layout is configured. If desired by the user, the communication endpoint can change the display layout or other multimedia stream function based on the received metadata.

After initiation of the IVR script, the agent can drop off of the call, leaving the IVR system to interact with the client endpoint without requiring further agent involvement.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for enhancing a video conference break. The method can be implemented on any or all participants' client device or on a network-based device. A client-side system configured to practice the method detects, at a client device of a participant in a video conference, a beginning of a break in the video conference, gathers information describing a current status of the video conference, and displays, at the client device of the participant, the information. A network-based system maintains a current status of a video conference connecting a group of client devices, monitors the video conference to detect a beginning of a break, and, when the beginning of the break is detected, transmits at least part of the current status to each of the group of client devices for display to respective users of the group of client devices.

Abstract: A plug-in runs on a user computer as a part of or in conjunction with a browser and works only on a requested minimum resolvable URL entered by the user before the user types in the complete URL and before the user receives a page load error like “404 page not found.” Once the minimum resolvable URL is entered, a connection is made to the network address. A client component of the browser analyzes the home page of the web site for all the sub-links present on the page. These links are analyzed, validated, resolved, and structured together before presenting to the user. It presents only live links and the site map in a structured format to the user. The user can see the list of available live pages in the browser's address bar drop-down menu with the anchored text.
