    Abstract: Solutions for reducing key bar rattle in dynamoelectric machines are disclosed. In one embodiment an apparatus includes: a plurality of key bars operably coupling a stator core to a stator wrapper in which the stator core is at least partially contained; a cable surrounding the plurality of key bars; and at least one anchor device connecting a portion of the cable to the stator wrapper to produce a compressive load on at least one of the plurality of key bars by tightening the cable around the plurality of key bars.
