  • Patent number: 10055971
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for communication between one or more personal protection equipment (PPE) devices, a mobile device, and a central monitoring station. Personnel may wear PPE devices for detection and communication. These portable devices may communicate wirelessly, over a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) network, via Bluetooth, or another wireless connection. Systems may include a smartphone application operable to receive and combine information from each of the PPE devices. The application may also display the information to the user. In some embodiments, the application may transfer the data to a cloud storage network via a cellular network. Additionally, the application may communicate the combined data from all of the PPE devices to the central monitoring station.

  • Publication number: 20170339741
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for establishing communication between an operator using a personal protection equipment (PPE) device and a central monitoring station, particularly in an emergency event. If the PPE device loses connection with a wireless network, and therefore with the central monitoring station, one or more method may be used to communicate information from the PPE device to the central monitoring station. One method may include sending a message to a predefined mobile number with location, operator, and alarm information. Another method may comprise establishing a Bluetooth connection with a secondary device, wherein the secondary device is connected to the wireless network, and sending data from the PPE device to the secondary device, wherein the secondary device forwards the data to the central monitoring station.

  • Publication number: 20160178589
Abstract: An apparatus and method to present developing incidents to a user in accordance with a selected criteria. Where the incidents correspond to developing gas concentrations, gas samples can be compared to a selected threshold, and responsive to the comparison, a concentration indicating display, relative to a selected region being monitored, can be presented to a user. The displayed concentration indicating elements, in response to real-time samples, can expand on the visual presentation indicating the characteristics of a developing incident. Stored historical information can be represented for after action analysis.
