  • Patent number: 11983860
Abstract: A method and instruction memory for processing acoustic images of a tubular to determine the surface of the tubular. The images may be acquired by an acoustic logging tool deployed into a pipe or well. A Machine Learning model is trained to recognize regions of the acoustic images that are internal to the tubular or not, in order to determine surface pixels. The surface pixels may be rendered to create visualizations of the tubular where noise and non-surface features are filtered out automatically.

  • Publication number: 20240011364
Abstract: A system includes a first tubular body deployed within a second tubular body, a scanner tool, and an electronically conductive cable. The scanner tool is movably disposed around the outer circumferential surface of the first tubular body and located within an annulus. The scanner tool includes a tool housing, a conduit, and calipers. The tool housing has a housing outer surface and a housing inner surface. The conduit is defined by the housing inner surface. The first tubular body extends therein. The calipers are distributed around the housing outer surface. The calipers are configured to measure well data. The electronically conductive cable is connected to the tool housing and is configured to transmit the well data between the scanner tool and a computer located at a surface location. The electronically conductive cable is further configured to move the scanner tool up hole and downhole along the first tubular body.

  • Publication number: 20230358911
Abstract: A method, imaging tool and computer system for locating external devices mounted to a tubular in a wellbore. The identification of devices, such as cable clamps, enables other tools in the string to operate more precisely. A computer model is used to locate the devices from acoustic images, which images are acquired using a downhole imaging tool having an acoustic sensor or acoustic array. The model may be a classifier, which may be machine trained to classify whether a device is present, its location and its orientation. Automating this locating enables very long wellbores to be processed quickly.

  • Patent number: 11529838
Abstract: Vehicle body tilt, representing a difference between a vehicle body frame of reference and a wheel-base frame of reference, is determined by obtaining information from sensor assemblies for the vehicle body and for the wheel-base. Navigational solutions are generated for the sensor assemblies using motion sensor data from the assemblies and absolute navigational information. Correspondingly, vehicle body tilt is determined based at least in part on the vehicle body navigation solution and the wheel-base navigation solution.

  • Patent number: 11422253
Abstract: An integrated navigation solution is provided for a device within a moving platform. Motion sensor data is obtained from a sensor assembly of the device, radar measurements for the platform are obtained and map information for an environment encompassing the platform is obtained. Correspondingly, an integrated navigation solution is generated based at least in part on the obtained motion sensor data using a nonlinear state estimation technique, wherein the nonlinear state estimation technique uses a nonlinear measurement model for radar measurements. Generating the integrated navigation solution includes using the sensor data with the nonlinear state estimation technique and integrating the radar measurements directly by updating the nonlinear state estimation technique using the nonlinear measurement models and the map information. The integrated navigation solution is then provided.

  • Patent number: 11162792
Abstract: Anchor points associated with point of sale information may be ordered by segmenting a trajectory derived from sensor data defined by adjacent turns to generate candidate links for each segment from which possible paths for the trajectory are derived. Each derived possible path may be scored with a multi-objective function using a global optimization algorithm to select a solution path from the derived possible paths that may be used to order a plurality of anchor points.

  • Publication number: 20190170521
Abstract: A survey for building fingerprint maps for an area may be achieved using map information to generate a grid of nodes and links, then transforming the grid to a directed graph, generating an improved tour that entirely traverses the directed graph and providing at least one survey route based at least in part on the tour to a surveyor that will perform the survey route. The provided survey route may be traversed with at least one device having an integrated sensor assembly that outputs data representing motion of the device and recording signal measurements with each device at a plurality of positions to generate a fingerprint map. The traversal of the provided survey route may be assessed through in-route assessment and/or post-route assessment. Depending on the assessment, the provided survey route may be re-traversed or a next survey route may be scheduled.

  • Patent number: 10126134
Abstract: The navigation solution of a portable device may be enhanced using map information. Sensor data for the portable device may be used to derive navigation solutions at a plurality of epochs over a first period of time. Position information for the device may be estimated at a time subsequent to the first period of time using the navigation solutions. Map information for an area encompassing a current location of the portable device may also be obtained. Multiple hypotheses regarding possible positions of the portable device may be generated using the estimated position information and the map information. By managing and processing the hypotheses, estimated position information for at least one epoch during the first period of time may be updated. An enhanced navigation solution for the at least one epoch may be provided using the updated estimated position information and an uncertainty measure may be derived for the enhanced navigation solution.
