  • Publication number: 20190032454
Abstract: A method of in-situ rock permeability enhancement involves penetration of a target formation by a well, downhole injection of a fluid, action on the fluid by static pressure and shock waves of a specific pattern transmitted downhole along a fluid waveguide and directed to the target formation from a wave reflector, thereby generating dilatant decompaction of the rock. The action on the fluid by static pressure and by shock waves occurs simultaneously, so that static pressure exceeds the capillary pressure in pores of the most common size in the decompacting rock by no less than 1.3 times. The selected shock wave amplitude is equal to or greater than the compressive or tensile stress necessary for dilatant decompaction of the rock. The proposed technical solution will make it possible to improve the efficiency of the in-situ permeability enhancement and rock decompaction process while reducing energy consumption and operating costs.

  • Patent number: 10156131
Abstract: This invention relates to downhole resource extraction technology and may be used to recover crude oil, gas, asphalt, coal, radioactive and rare metals, nonferrous and precious metals, and underground sulfur. This method of downhole resource extraction includes: penetrating a productive formation with conventional wells; generating thermal energy directly within said formation on a capillary microlevel by running an electric current through a natural or artificially created conductive part of the formation to establish a high-temperature channel in said formation; and setting and maintaining a controllable design temperature within specified sections of the formation. The design temperature will be set based on the type of resource to be recovered and is intended to keep specified parameters of the target resource in a flowing state.

  • Patent number: 10100625
Abstract: A process for the thermobaric production of hydrocarbons from natural reservoirs through conventional wells. The hydrocarbons are converted into corresponding vapor phase fractions in the downhole, through the use of a combination of gasifying agents, heated atmospheric air, and steam—all pumped into the downhole. Temperature and pressure gradients that develop in the reservoir lead to disintegration of low-porosity rock and decompaction of impermeable rock. The vapor phase fractions are recovered at the well head and condensed on-site into high quality liquid and gaseous products.
