  • Publication number: 20210093792
Abstract: A drug delivery device and method of using the same may include a housing having an opening and a drug storage container including a delivery member with an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening. The drug storage container may be coupled with the housing such as to substantially prevent relative movement therebetween. A guard may be positioned adjacent to the opening and operably coupled with the plunger biasing member such that a relative movement between the guard and the housing permits release of a plunger biasing member to urge a plunger in to expel a drug from the drug storage container. A lock component may be configured to resist the relative movement between the guard and the housing until the lock component is released by a user force, whereafter the user force drives the housing and the drug storage container toward an injection site.

  • Patent number: 10736769
Abstract: A method of monitoring the pressure applied to an ostomy appliance during application to the skin, the ostomy appliance comprising an adhesive wafer comprising a backing layer facing away from the skin and an adhesive layer for attachment to the skin, the method comprising the steps of: providing sensing means capable of recording application of pressure to the wafer, applying the adhesive wafer to the skin surrounding the stoma by applying pressure to the sensing means and wafer and retrieving the recorded data from the sensing means.

  • Publication number: 20200060863
Abstract: A body side member of an ostomy appliance comprising a nonwoven element comprising a releasable material. Contact of the nonwoven element with liquid allow release of the releasable material from the nonwoven element. The releasable material may act to neutralise enzyme activity or pH of stomal exudate.

  • Publication number: 20200046541
Abstract: A body side member of an ostomy appliance comprising releasable material provided in one or more overlays covered by individual cover layers. The releasable material is adapted to engage with stomal output to prevent breakdown of the adhesive attaching the ostomy appliance to the skin surface around a stoma of a user. The cover layers are individually removable and can be removed one at a time to release the releasable material.

  • Publication number: 20190117824
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for applying an adhesive composition to the skin of a user and for removing the adhesive composition from the skin. The method includes the steps of providing an adhesive composition including a switchable adhesive; applying the adhesive composition to the skin; exposing the switchable adhesive to a first switch activator, thereby switching the switchable adhesive from an application state to a wear state; exposing the switchable adhesive to a second switch activator, thereby switching the switchable adhesive from the wear state to a removal state; and removing the adhesive composition from the skin of the user.

  • Publication number: 20180116859
Abstract: Disclosed is an ostomy device with an adhesive wafer for attachment to a skin surface of a user and a collecting bag for collecting output from a stoma. The collecting bag is connected to the adhesive wafer, and the adhesive wafer has a through-going hole for accommodating the stoma of the user. The adhesive wafer includes a backing layer, a first switchable adhesive composition, a second adhesive composition, and a release liner. The first adhesive is contained in a recess in the device. The first switchable adhesive composition comprises a polymer and a switch initiator, and can be switched from a first liquid state to a second adhesive state by activation of the switch initiator.

  • Publication number: 20170239384
Abstract: Disclosed is a composition including a polymer and a switch initiator. The composition can be switched from a first liquid state to a second adhesive state by activation of the switch initiator. The composition has in the first liquid state a complex viscosity |?*| below 0.4 MPa s; and the composition has in the second adhesive state a second repeated peel force above 1 N/25 mm.
