Patent number: 11992020Abstract: A method of determining a measure of gaping in a fish fillet item, involves the steps of obtaining three-dimensional profile data of a first area of the fish fillet item, obtaining optical imaging data of a second area of the fish fillet item, wherein the first area and the second area are overlapping at least within an overlap area; and determining the measure of gaping in the fish fillet item based on the three-dimensional profile data within the overlap area and the optical imaging data within the overlap area.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2021Date of Patent: May 28, 2024Assignee: MAREL SALMON A/SInventors: Anders Kjaer, Martin Andersen

Patent number: 11937612Abstract: A food processing system and method for cutting a food item into cut food item portions includes a conveyor, an imaging system, a cutting device, and a controller. The conveyor conveys the food item past the imaging system allowing the imaging system to image the food item and image data is obtained. The controller receives the imaging data and determines the location of defective areas on the basis thereof. Then a distribution of portion cuts over the food item dividing the food item into food item portions is determined on the basis of at least the determined location of defective areas and a desired portion size and/or weight. The cutting device cuts the food item according to the determined distribution of portion cuts.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2020Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: MAREL SALMON A/SInventor: Anders Kjær

Patent number: 11900526Abstract: Disclosed is surface guided cropping in volume rendering of 3D volumetric data from intervening anatomical structures in the patient's body. A digital 3D representation expressing the topography of a first anatomical structure is used to define a clipping surface or a bounding volume which then is used in the volume rendering to exclude data from an intervening structure when generating a 2D projection of the first anatomical structure.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2023Date of Patent: February 13, 2024Assignee: 3SHAPE A/SInventors: Anders Kjær-Nielsen, Adam Carsten Stoot

Publication number: 20240037771Abstract: A method and a system for determining a weight estimate of food items include receiving an image of an outer surface of a food item. The image having a plurality of pixels each having a measure. By the measure of the pixels, a surface content of a first tissue which is distinct from a second tissue is identified. The surface content is translated into a volume content and a density parameter is recorded. An estimate of the weight is determined based on the volume content, the density parameter, and volume data identifying the volume of the food item.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2022Publication date: February 1, 2024Inventors: Anders KJAER, Martin ANDERSEN

Publication number: 20240000088Abstract: A method and a system for automatically tracking a food item in a processing facility involves a food item that is received in a check-in position where a check-in image is captured, and a unique identification insignia, UII is generated based on the check-in image. The food item is handled and moved to a check-out position where a check-out image is captured. To facilitate automatic tracking of the food items, a recognition process is carried out to establish if a check-out image can be assigned to the created UII, and a data-record is, in that case, generated with the recognized UII.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2021Publication date: January 4, 2024Inventors: Anders KJAER, Martin ANDERSEN
