  • Publication number: 20060049549
Abstract: Method and apparatus to reduce or eliminate undesirable filament bundles in a spunbond generating process that includes providing a spin beam that has a source of polymer melt, a spinneret for forming individual filaments of said polymer melt and a drawing unit that draws the filaments from the spinneret for depositing on a web forming means below the drawing unit. The spin beam includes one or more embedded electrodes that charge electrostatically the polymer melt that is used to form the filaments in the spinneret with like charges. By having filaments of a similar electrostatic charge (which is a repelling force), bundling is eliminated. The apparatus and method may also include providing an additional electrostatic charge at the entrance of the drawing unit for further electrostatically charging the filaments.

  • Patent number: 5133000
Abstract: Arrangement for supporting and positioning X-ray cassettes (13) in the required position in radiography of patients confined to bed. The arrangement comprises at least one holder (10) and a lifting means (30). The holder (10) may be of different design, and in one preferred embodiment it comprises a base member (11) and a cassette support (12) extending upwardly therefrom, the base member (11) being supported by the bedstead bottom (15), and the X-ray cassette (13) being fixable standing on edge between the base member (11) and the cassette support (12). The lifting means (30) is adapted to be inserted between the bedstead bottom (15) and the mattress (14) in order to raise the latter, so that the X-ray cassette (13) is insertable in the space thus formed.

  • Patent number: 4941709
Abstract: An examination chair for placing a patient in desired positions for e.g. radiological examination, especially of the lungs and pleurae, comprises an underframe (10) having an arm (12) which is pivotable in the vertical plane and two parallel arcuate sections (17) which are rigidly interconnected and longitudinally displaceably mounted in holders (16) on opposite sides of the end of said arm (12) facing away from the underframe (10) and can be locked in the adjusted position. The arcuate members (17) carry the seat and back-rest assembly (19, 20, 21) of the chair on their side facing the arc center (0) in a manner such that the center of gravity of a person sitting in the chair will lie slightly in front of and below the arc center (0). By pivoting the arm and longitudinally displacing the arcuate members (17), the patient carried by said seat and back-rest assembly (19, 20, 21) is readily positionable in the desired positions.
