  • Patent number: 9759036
Abstract: A sealing device for a tubing arrangement, preferably for use in an offshore facility, such as an offshore wind turbine or an oil rig. The tubing arrangement has a cable or an inner tube arranged in an interior part thereof. The sealing device comprises a substantially rigid housing and a flexible plug part arranged in an interior part of the housing. The housing is mountable on or forms part of the tubing arrangement in such a manner that the interior part of the housing communicates with the interior part of the tubing arrangement. The flexible plug part comprises an inlet opening connectable to a grout source. When grout material is supplied to the flexible plug part, the flexible plug part expands, thereby providing sealing between the housing and a cable or inner tube arranged in the interior of the tubing arrangement. The sealing device can be mounted on the tubing arrangement before the tubing arrangement is mounted on an offshore facility, and the grout material can be supplied at a later time.

  • Patent number: 9494131
Abstract: A method for installing a wind turbine comprises establishing a substructure, the substructure comprising at least one pile extending upwards and the at least one pile being part of a primary structure of the substructure, establishing a support of a secondary structure on the at least one pile, mounting of fittings to the secondary structure, the mounting of the fittings to the secondary structure preferably being established by welding or bolting, and not mounting fittings to at least one of the at least one pile being part of the primary structure. A method may alternatively comprise mounting a wind turbine tower to the at least one pile being part of the primary structure, and the secondary structure constituting an intermediate structure between the at least one pile and the wind turbine tower.

  • Patent number: 8316614
Abstract: Method for establishing a wind turbine (1) on a foundation (7) where at least a part of the wind turbine rotor (4) is attached to a wind turbine tower (2). Further, the method comprises the steps of positioning the wind turbine tower including the attached wind turbine rotor on the foundation, elevating a wind turbine nacelle (3) to a use position on the tower, and directly or indirectly connecting the nacelle to the attached wind turbine rotor. The invention also relates to transport of a wind turbine tower, and a vessel (10) suitable for transporting a wind turbine tower.

  • Publication number: 20110123274
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for erecting a wind turbine on an offshore site, said method comprises the steps of positioning a first boom of a crane in a substantially horizontal position, arranging a substantially horizontal positioned elongated wind turbine component on said first boom, connecting a distal part of said elongated wind turbine component to a second boom of said crane, said distal part is the upper part of the wind turbine component when the wind turbine is erected, and said second boom is extending at an angle from the longitudinal extension of said first boom, elevating said first boom to a substantially vertical position, modifying the position in the horizontal plane of said elongated wind turbine component, in order to reach a desired erecting position for the component, and disconnecting said distal part of said elongated wind turbine component from said second boom of said crane. The invention also relates to a vessel for erecting a wind turbine on an offshore site.

  • Publication number: 20100196100
Abstract: A tubing arrangement (1) for an offshore facility, e.g. a wind turbine, and comprising a first tube section (2) comprising a curved part (3), e.g. a J-tube, a second tube section (4) being substantially rigid and a joint part (6), e.g. a hinge, interconnecting the second tube section (4) and the curved part (3) of the first tube section (2). The joint part (6) allows the tube sections (2, 4) to pivot relatively to each other. When a scour hole (13) occurs at the offshore facility, a cable (11) can be mounted safely and easily in the tubing arrangement (1) with no or only little use of divers, even if the opening of the J-tube is positioned at a distance from the seabed (9) due to the scour hole (13). Furthermore, an offshore facility comprising such a tubing arrangement (1) and a method of mounting a cable (11) on an offshore facility are disclosed. According to the method, the cable (11) is inserted in the tubing arrangement (1) above a level defined by the seabed (9), preferably above the water surface (8).
