  • Publication number: 20060142658
Abstract: The invention relates to a system (1) for monitoring a conductivity in a volume. The system according to the invention is suited to be used for industrial and medical applications. The system (1) comprises a resonant circuit (2,4,10) comprising a conductive coil (4) driven by a power supply means (8), said conductive coil being arranged to induce an oscillating magnetic field in the volume. The power supply means (8) is arranged to measure a power loss of said resonant circuit due to the conductivity in the volume. The conductive coil (4) is arranged to be integrated into an insulating fabric (9). Preferably the conductor forming the conductive coil is interwoven with threads of fabric. For medical applications it is preferable that the system is integrated into a bodywear, for example a T-shirt.

  • Publication number: 20060111624
Abstract: An electrode assembly arranged to change the impedance of the skin area (12a, 12) under the contacting surface (11) of the electrode (10). For this purpose the body of the electrode (10) comprises the impedance control means (14) arranged to discharge an amount of the electrolyte from a depot (14). This can be controlled by the discharge means (16) arranged to induce a force of the depot (14). Preferably, the discharge means operate with an ignitable pressurized gas (15) or with settable fibers. The electrode 10 is provided with pores (13) to conduct the electrolyte from the depot (14) to the inter space (12a) between the contacting surface (11) and the receiving area of the skin (12).

  • Publication number: 20060095273
Abstract: A system (6) arranged to route a dialog between an operator of a call center and a customer. Said system comprising a communication script (44) arranged to follow a scenario corresponding to a customer's case by means of presenting a plurality of messages to the operator. Said system further comprising means (3,7) for determining a type of the scenario, means (11) for determining a current state of the scenario and a generator (9) of the communication script (44). Said generator being arranged to select a plurality of messages (44a, 44b, 44c) from a database of messages (10) in compliance with said type and said current state in order to obtain a plurality of selected messages. Ranking means (14b) are arranged to rank the selected messages, wherein the message with a higher relevance to the current state of the scenario being ranked higher. A user interface (8) arranged to present the selected messages together with their rank (46a, 46b, 46c) to the operator in a list (18).

  • Publication number: 20050231250
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for address conversion in a network with at least two appliances that use different kinds of addressing methods, wherein a first address from a first addressing method is converted into a second address from a second addressing method. Positions of the addresses at which all addresses of the second addressing method that are in use each exhibit at least one identical character are hereby determined. An arbitrary amendment is made to at least one common character and the second address is formed from the common, amended characters and at least the characters from the first address, wherein the common characters within the second address occur in the same positions as in all other addresses of the second addressing method.

  • Patent number: 6859142
Abstract: Theft protection of electronic apparatuses connected to a bus system is implemented in a manner particularly suitable for use in a digital home network based on the IEEE 1394 standard. At least one of the apparatuses in the network is equipped with a monitoring unit switchable between an activated and a de-activated state. In the activated state, the monitoring unit monitors the occurrence of a bus reset which is generated particularly upon removal of an apparatus from the network. After occurrence of such a reset, the monitoring unit compares the list of all apparatuses on the bus with a list generated and stored before the reset. When determining differences, an alarm is triggered which can be reproduced particularly by means of the apparatuses which are present, such as, for example, televisions and hi-fi equipment.

The method is particularly suitable for use in a digital home network based on an IEEE 1394 standard. In the method, at least one of the apparatuses in the network is equipped with a monitoring unit which can be switched between an activated and a de-activated state. • Publication number: 20030037151
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of handling utilization conflicts in digital networks, particularly in in-home digital networks. Such a conflict occurs where a second application seeks to access a resource for a second objective, the resource already being used by a first application for a first objective. In such cases the method searches for modifications to the actual requests for network components that will permit achievement of the first objective and the second objective simultaneously. If the first objective, for example, is to provide sports news, and for this purpose the first request seeks to record sports news on a video recorder at a certain time, and a second application requests the video recorder at this time, this conflict may possibly be resolved by recording another program containing sports news at a later time to resolve the first objective.
