    Abstract: A multi-tube burner system for efficient mixing of fuel and air for combustion is disclosed. The multi-tube burner system includes an air supply plenum, a multi-tube burner, and a combustor. Further, the multi-tube burner includes a set of tubes including the air supply section to receive combustion air and supply the received combustion air to a mixing section. Furthermore, the multi-tube burner includes a set of fuel pipes to receive fuel from a set of fuel inlets and supply the received fuel to a set of fuel plenums. Furthermore, a pair of fuel receiving channels receive the fuel from the set of fuel plenums and a fuel injector pin injects the received fuel from the pair of fuel receiving channels to the mixing section. Further, a set of mixing holes allow egression of the combustion air and the fuel mixture from the mixing section to the combustor.

The finger is configured as a streamlined body which has a streamlined cross-sectional profile. The body has two lateral surfaces essentially parallel to the axial hot gas flow. The body includes an enclosing outer wall having a longitudinally extending air plenum for the distributed introduction of air into the at least one finger. The air plenum is provided with a plurality of distributed impingement cooling holes, such that air exiting through the impingement cooling holes impinges on the inner side of the leading edge region of the body.

The vortex generating device may be provided as a fuel discharge device which is suited to discharge a fuel into a vortex flow generated by the vortex generating device. To this extent, a fuel supply plenum may be provided inside the body and at least one fuel discharge opening which is in fluid communication with the fuel supply plenum may be provided on the trailing edge.

Each airfoil-shaped profile cross section has a camber line extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge, at least two of the camber lines exhibiting different camber angles, such that the body exhibits at least two different flow deflection angles along the spanwise extent. An imaginary trailing edge diagonal extends straight from a first spanwise end of the trailing edge to a second spanwise end of the trailing edge. When seen from the downstream viewpoint, the trailing edge crosses the imaginary trailing edge diagonal exactly once at one diagonal crossing point.
