  • Patent number: 7891660
Abstract: In a device for the transport of sheets in a sheet-processing machine, preferably a printing press, provision is made to transport the sheets on chain-guided gripper bars. The gripper bars are fixed respectively to two chain links arranged indirectly beside each other. The forces acting on the gripper bars are more evenly distributed.

  • Patent number: 7823881
Abstract: A method of depositing sheets coming out of a sheet-processing machine includes decelerating the sheets and depositing the sheets of a main pile. Certain sheets are decelerated and fed to a second sheet pile. The system includes a device for decelerating the sheets arriving from the sheet-processing machine and for depositing the sheets on a main pile. A chain gripper system is configured to hold and decelerate a trailing edge of the sheets. The chain gripper system includes an adjustable gripper opening cam.

  • Publication number: 20060244204
Abstract: A sheet brake for a press contains braking elements diverging in the sheet running direction in order to tauten the printing material sheets transversely. The braking elements are driven so as to circulate at a nonuniform speed. The nonuniform speed of the diverging braking elements results in more effective transverse tautening of the printing material sheets.

  • Publication number: 20060220306
Abstract: A belt conveyor of a printing-material sheet processing machine includes a belt for transporting the printing-material sheets, the belt having openings, and a roller, which has pins for engaging in the openings. At least one ring is rotatably mounted on the roller, relative to the pins, the belt lying on the ring. This belt conveyor is suited for conveying a printing-material sheet, wherein the belt is driven by the roller virtually exclusively via a form lock between the pins and the openings and virtually without a friction lock between the inner surface of the belt and the peripheral surface of the roller. The belt conveyor may be, for example, a sheet brake of a delivery of a printing press.

  • Patent number: 5649551
Abstract: Apparatus for transferring a rod-like filler of fibrous material of the tobacco processing industry from the underside of a foraminous suction belt conveyor to the concave upper side of a running web of cigarette paper or other suitable wrapping material upstream of the station where the web is draped around the filler and downstream of the station where the fibrous material is showered against the foraminous belt conveyor has a so-called garniture belt conveyor which advances the web along a horizontal path, and a guide which compels an upstream portion of the foraminous belt conveyor to advance above and in at least substantial parallelism with the garniture belt conveyor. The guide causes a downstream portion of the foraminous belt conveyor to slope downwardly toward the garniture belt conveyor.
