  • Publication number: 20240067300
Abstract: A bicycle sprocket for a sprocket cassette comprises a sprocket main body which extends about a virtual sprocket axis about which the sprocket is rotatable during intended operation on a bicycle. In the case of a single release tooth being formed, a release-side stabilizing tooth is arranged in the circumferential region of extent of an upshift recess formation. The release-side stabilizing tooth has an inner tooth contact surface which has a greater axial spacing to an axial reference position than an inner tooth contact surface of the reference tooth. Additionally, or alternatively, in the case of a single catch tooth being formed, a receiving-side stabilizing tooth is arranged in the circumferential region of extent of a downshift recess formation. The receiving-side stabilizing tooth has an inner tooth contact surface which has a greater axial spacing to the axial reference position than the inner tooth contact surface of the reference tooth.

  • Patent number: 11224758
Abstract: The invention relates to an irradiation device and a corresponding method for irradiating a radiation absorbing medium, as well as a hearing aid device and a laser surgery device comprising such an irradiation device. A radiation source is configured to generate one or more pulses of electromagnetic radiation and to irradiate the medium with the one or more pulses of electromagnetic radiation. A control unit is configured to control the radiation source such that the time course of the power or intensity of at least one pulse of the one or more pulses of electromagnetic radiation exhibits a rising slope and/or a falling slope, wherein the rising slope and/or falling slope has a maximum gradient which is smaller than a predetermined gradient value, whereby a generation of optoacoustic waves in the medium in response to the rising slope or falling slope, respectively, is avoided or significantly reduced.

  • Patent number: 10744322
Abstract: A cochlear implant for processing signal parameters which are adapted for controlling the cochlear implant, which are based on the audio signal and which enable generating a representation of the audio signal by the cochlear implant includes a receive interface which is implemented to receive the signal parameters and a nerve stimulator for processing the signal parameters to generate nerve cell stimulation signals based on the signal parameters. A device for generating a control signal for a cochlear implant on the basis of an audio signal includes a cochlear parameter extractor for analyzing the audio signal which is implemented to generate signal parameters as input information for the cochlear implant based on an analysis of the audio signal using a human hearing simulation model, and a transmit interface for transmitting the signal parameters to the cochlear implant.

  • Patent number: 9579499
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for determining a stimulus based on a masking model of human hearing are disclosed. An example method includes receiving a signal that includes information indicative of one or more spectral components of a sound. The example method also includes determining a masking curve that includes information indicative of one or more masking spectral components. The masking curve is determined according to a masking model of human hearing that accounts for at least an effect due to temporal masking. The example method further includes generating a stimulus based on a difference between the one or more spectral components and the one or more masking spectral components. The stimulation allows a recipient to perceive at least a portion of the sound.

  • Patent number: 8285382
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention takes masking effects into consideration when determining stimulation signals for neural stimulation. These masking effects may be modeled using user-specific models determined by taking measurements for an implant system of an implant recipient. Or, the model may correspond to a group of individuals sharing a common characteristic or the population as a whole. These models may be, for example, psycho-physical models.
