  • Patent number: 11895960
Abstract: The present invention relates to non-transgenic and transgenic plants, preferably crop plants, comprising a mutation causing an alteration of the amino acid sequence in the CATD domain of the centromere histone H3 (CENH3), preferably within the loop1 or the ?2-helix of the CATD domain, which have the biological activity of a haploid inducer. Further, the present invention provides methods of generating the plants of the present invention and haploid and double haploid plants obtainable by crossing the plants of the present invention with wildtype plants as well as methods of facilitating cytoplasm exchange.

  • Publication number: 20220338434
Abstract: The invention identifies plants carrying certain mutations, which can be used as haploid inducers or doubled haploid inducers in plant breeding. According to the invention, significant haploid induction and even doubled haploid induction rates can be observed when at least one functional mutation within a SAD-homology domain is present, wherein the functional mutation affects the expression of certain SAD-homology consensus sequences. The present invention further provides haploid and doubled haploid plants, which are obtained by contacting a first gamete from a plant as identified according to the invention with a second gamete from a plant expressing a wild-type SAD-homology domain to generate a zygote. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for identifying a plant having the activity of a haploid inducer or a doubled haploid inducer in a plant population.

  • Publication number: 20120036909
Abstract: A method for removing loose scale and other foreign matter from the top and/or bottom face of a cast product with the aid of flowable media which are sprayed onto the cast product by a cleaning device having at least one spraying apparatus that is disposed above the cast product and at least one spraying apparatus that is arranged below the cast product. According to the method, the amount of media and/or the effective width and/or the pressure of the media is/are controlled separately and independently of time for each spraying apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20070236163
Abstract: In a method for controlling a positioning device, the positioning device has a stator and mover, the mover being movable relative to the stator; a position sensor configured to generate a position signal indicative of a position of the mover relative to the stator; a controller configured to receive the position signal, compare it to a setpoint signal to obtain an error signal, and generate a mover control signal on the basis of a signal component of the position signal, the controller having a variable gain. The positioning device, including the position sensor and the controller, defines a control loop. For error signals having a magnitude in a predefined range, the gain is selectively set to a value higher than a value for error signals having a magnitude outside the range.
