  • Publication number: 20120031288
Abstract: A press unit of a printing press has at least one printing unit which includes at least one plate cylinder and one transfer cylinder which interacts with the plate cylinder. An inking unit having a plurality of ink distribution cylinders is provided. The forme cylinder, the transfer cylinder, and all of the distribution cylinders of the inking unit are driven for rotation by the same single drive motor. The distribution cylinders of the inking unit are driven by the single drive motor by an arrangement of gear which includes a plurality of gearwheels. The distribution cylinders each have at least one spur gear and are driven directly and jointly by the engagement of the respective spur gear for each distribution cylinder with a central gearwheel that is rotatable about an axis of rotation. All of the distribution cylinders are driven directly and jointly by the central gearwheel.

  • Patent number: 7958821
Abstract: A printing unit of a printing machine is supported by a pair of spaced side frames that are disposed opposite to each other. The printing unit includes at least one printing machine and at least one ink unit. The printing machine is formed by a plurality of printing cylinders. Each of the spaced side frames include a longitudinal crossbar that runs in the direction of transfer of a print substrate traveling through the printing unit. The two longitudinal crossbars form the boundaries of a foot space of the printing unit at two parallel sides. A plurality of pipelines are disposed in the foot space between the two longitudinal crossbars. These pipelines supply flowable media to the printing unit, which flowable media can be either liquid or gaseous. At least one of the pipelines is connected to a user of one of the supplied flowable media in the printing unit or to at least one source of the flowable media. The printing machine can utilize a plurality of printing units.

  • Patent number: 7412924
Abstract: A printing blanket assembly for a blanket cylinder of a rotary printing press includes a dimensionally stable support plate, and a printing blanket fastened to the outside of the support plate. A leading end of the support plate and a trailing end of the support plate are fastened to the blanket cylinder by the provision of an angled or beveled, printing blanket free end. A filler is provided between the beveled end of the support plate and the inner edge of the leading and trailing ends of the printing blanket.

  • Patent number: 7370579
Abstract: A printing blanket assembly for a blanket cylinder of a rotary printing press includes a dimensionally stable support plate with a printing blanket secured to an outer surface of the support plate. A filler material is arranged on at least one end of the printing blanket. This filler material extends radially at least to an outside surface of the printing blanket. It also extends on the outside of the printing blanket in a longitudinal direction of the printing blanket.

  • Patent number: 7278352
Abstract: The invention relates to a printing blanket assembly for a blanket cylinder of a rotary printing press. The printing blanket assembly comprises a dimensionally stable support plate (02, 18) with two ends, one of which is the forward end and the other one is the trailing end with respect to the rotation of the blanket cylinder, these ends being fastened to the blanket cylinder with folded, printing-blanket free limbs (21, 22). The assembly further comprises a printing blanket (03, 19), fastened to the outside of the support plate (02, 18) and having a forward end (12, 31) and a trailing end (11, 32). Said printing blanket assembly allows for perfect printing also in the area of a gap between the limbs (21, 22) and can be produced in a simple manner.
